ok, random question... what do the green boxes underneath people's user names mean? When I scroll over some is says their name, some say that that person is "on a distinguished road" and I saw one where the person is a "jewel in the rough" or something.

Also, I see on other threads people discussing reputation points. What are they and how do I view them?

Click on "User CP" above left to view any reps given you by other forum members. The number of green squares is of significance...apparently. It doesn't mean a heckuva whole lot IMO.

You're soo modest....Like you don't even know you are a "jewel in the rough". ;)

since many of us are opinionated when it comes to the teams we watch... the whole reputation thing is kind of a joke to me

The board made some changes a couple of months ago, and this was one of the features (I think they really only talked about it in the cafe). Supposedly the more green you have the more "good reputation" you have, as well as the opposite, the more red you have, your reputation is, well, crap.

Of course it's misused and most of the time it's a popularity contest thing.

This is what I tell myself whenever I notice a new red marker on my control panel...I tell myself this fairly often. ;)

Yeah, and unless you have USCHO Extra, you cannot see who leaves you rep, good or bad. I always try and sign mine that I dish out, either way. A lot of people try and hide behind the anonymity of it.

Thanks to whoever gave me my first rep. My green light now says I am on a distinguished road!

I asked before on the "Maggie Joyce" thread, but what does the "blue" square mean? Could the person not make up their mind?

I'm not sure, but possibly when rep is given by someone "in the red"??

First I thought the blue (almost looks more gray on my screen) was for "neutral", ala eBay feedback. However, when I leave rep, I only get a positive/negative option, so that doesn't make any sense unless "extra" users have more options.

Exactly. Also there is some minimum amount of posts one needs to have before +ive or -ive Rep results in anything.

Thanks. I'm assuming you've met the required minimum number of posts for approval / disapproval associated reputation to be issued. ;)

Edit: We gotta have some PARTY when the 50,000 mark is reached.

The more posts you get the more +ive Rep you give out. Also the more Rep you have the more you give out. I was told that I give about 65 points each time.

When I reached 40,000, CAH asked me if I was going to start a thread celebrating it, and I said that I would wait to 50,000, so I guess that I should. I may have to do it twice, because I suspect that Rhett will delete the Song Association thread at some time. I could threaten him with -ive Rep. :D
