This will bring the NCHA one team short of an Automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Don't you only need 7 teams?

Yes, seven teams is the minimum for a conference to have an autobid.

I know that Adrian College is getting a team for next season. I think they'll be an independant next season, but after that, do you think they'll join the NCHA? It's a pretty far drive even to their closest opponents. Who knows, maybe this could spur some interest from other MIAA schools. That would be great, to see maybe a Michigan/Indiana/Ohio/Illinois type conference. I know I'm getting ahead of myslef, but think of the possibilities!

The problem with adrians distance has been raised on the mens side as well, with them joining the MCHA...specifically with UM-Crookston. I can't imagine teams like superior, River falls, etc wanting to travel that far to play. They'd have to spend at least one extra night in a hotel maybe 2 plust the mileage and food costs...etc.
