Many professional athletes insist they play for love, not for money. The Minnesota Whitecaps don't have the luxury of pondering such questions, but they do dream of the day when women's hockey players are earning checks rather than writing them.

It would kick butt if one of Minnesota's large companies (it IS manufacturing week in the state this week) would make large sponsorhip 'donation.'

It sounds like their "home" games will be in different arena's around the state and some expenses picked up by the association that happens to hold their game on a certain night?

The original article I read the other day from the Star Tribune (http://www.startribune.com/10073/story/762150.html), and it's easier to read than the one on fastsports.

Come on DHMN, that would take money and food out of the CEO's family's mouth. It's too bad they couldn't find a way to tie in with Schwan's and the Super Rink in Blaine. They already house Bethel men and women and numberous high school teams there. Schwan's does try to have a family friendly persona.

I just linked to your post in this thread because it was one pertaining to "Whitecaps", and I thought some people might read it who don't always read the "Minnesota HS" thread. In retrospect, I guess I should have just started a new thread -- sorry for the confusion.
