Heading out to Minnesota for the Easton Shootout this weekend.
Looking forward to watching all the games. Was there last year for the Frozen Four. The game between UNH and Minny was the best Womens Hockey game I have ever saw.Playing at Ridder Arena should add a different dimension to this matchup,Minnesota's speed will be more of a factor on the small sheet.Anybody caught carrying a piano will show up even more there.I think UNH has learned alot from that loss last year.Sometimes a team has to lose to Learn how to win.I know watching Maine play is very entertaining, they play an agressive in your face game.I have never seen Bemidji play so I can't really comment. Good Luck to All the Teams!

The jury is out on Bemidji. I know they were pretty good defensively towards the end of last season. They brought in Sis Paulson last year as an assistant coach and she did a great job with the defensive corp. I don't know how much Coach Sertich will change being a new college coach. Minnesota is very young on defense so they UNH/Minnesota game may be a little different than the NCAA game last year.

Look for Maine to play hard after this weekend's matchup with MH. I too am headed out for the games. I am excited to see the Maine / Minnesota matchup , but more eager to see UNH as they come to Maine the weekend after.

All true taz. My suspicion is that ultimately we'll see a very cohesive type team effort from the Sertich coached Beavers, as seemed the philosophy and achieved results with his Roseville teams. Not unlike a Mark Johnson coached team. Sertich was quite successful with the Roseville girls' teams as most know. Always played well and challenged teams even when overmatched in talent dept. The Beavers have some talent and a goalie capable of stealing games. All told I think BSU could be more competitive than at any time in the past...and more so in the not too distant future with added scholarships & associated talent. I don't see them as a pushover for anyone. A big underdog in some cases but...
Regarding the young Gopher D, I'm hoping they pair 'em up carefully...I'm sure they will.
Any way we could sneak #6 onto the ice?
Will there be a Roseville to Bemidji pipeline?

Will there be any internet coverage of the UNH/BSU game tonight?
Gibber, I believe that only live stats will be provided for this weekend's Bemidji St. games. I think they will be here:

Well, so much for live stats.
Anyhoo, the USCHO sched/results lists a 7-0 UNH victory over Bemidji.
The scoring was primarily a veteran's show, with goals by Bellamy (2), Palazeti, Faber, Craig, and Caleo.
Holmes put another one in the net for the rooks, along with an assist from Long on Craig's goal.
Frosh Lucy Schoedel got the start in net. She made 20 saves (5,5,10) in the win.
Bellamy (2 goals), Faber (goal/assist), Garland (2 assists), and Caleo (goal/assist) had multi point games.
I'm kinda surprised that Schoedel got the start over Busa if they weren't gonna play Bourdon.
I'm wondering if Bemidji's shots were good scoring chances, given that UNH gave up 20 sog. Any of the Minny fans see the early game? (yes, I know they're currently watching their girls).
Bring on the Gophers.
Let's hope that today's game doesn't make UNH too confident. Bemidji WAS playing their first game, following a 3-3 exhibition game last week, and they weren't exactly a good team last year.
Go 'Cats!

Also, Bellamy is tied with Faber for the team lead in points (5), but leads the team in goals (4).

Not disagreeing with you, however, why would you even say that, Busa is a goalie who would have started for another team had she picked another school. In other words, she's a great goalie.

Not too many were...a couple at most in my opinion. It didn't even seem like they got 20 SOG to me.
I'd agree that BSU didn't have much for scoring chances. A couple of times, puck-luck kept a pinballing puck out of the net, but there wasn't much for clean shots. It was hard to conclude a lot from this game, because at this point of the season, UNH was on another level that the Beavers weren't capable of matching.

I didn't say anything regarding Busa.Obviously I was stating my opinion.Busa is a great goalie.I have seen Lucy play many times and I feel she could compete for the #1 at most schools.I purposely did not and will not go it any details. I'm trying to turn over a new leaf and show a softer, more compassionate side.We will see how long this last.Probably until the next post by someone who thinks they invented hockey in their state and that good hockey can only be played within their state boundries(or by those who reside there for 9-10 months a year).
