I guess I was a little late...What does everybody feel about this season? I suppose I need to post something hockey related or Slap Shot or some other idiot will be on my case...
Is anyone wanting/willing to do the weekly WCHA predictions/picks thing this season? It's a fun thing to do but does anyone have a little extra time? I'd volunteer but I don't know just how busy I'll be once we get into November (Each year is different depending on the customers I get calls from.)
I don't remember if anyone came up with a 'trophy' of sorts last year (I remember conversation of one)or not, but I still think a WCHA playoff frozen 4 puck on a chain would be nice.

What? You didn't receive your winnings? Must not have finished in the top 10. I got my $1000.00 check shortly after the season concluded...think I finished like 5th place or something.
I'll go with UMD & UW sweeps this weekend. Wouldn't mind at all if I were wrong on both counts.

Badgers sweep and Mavs and Dogs split. UMD always seems to struggle out of the gate and the Mavericks usually play well until Christmas.

Yes, Badgers will sweep SCSU and UMD will sweep the Mavs. None of the games will be close.

Agreed in full(except I would care if Mankato won a game.. won't happen :)).. which rarely happens on here between Me and Brookyone
Since UMD already got "out of the gate" against the Whitecaps they'll be ready. The team actually left Duluth the same time the men's game started tonight. They hung around and watched the men warmup then jumped on their bus for the trip to Mankato.

As long as UMD doesn't repeat opening weekend a few years ago when they got swept opening weekend in Mankato. I think the Mavs will catch the be able to keep the games close and may sneak the split.

WCHA
North Dakota at Minnesota-Duluth
Wisconsin at Ohio State
Minnesota State at Minnesota
St. Cloud State at Bemidji State
4 Pts. for the Gophs this weekend. ;)
The only GOOD series as far as competitiveness should be SCSU and Bemidji. UMD, UMTC, and Wisconsin should win easy.

Όταν πήρα τρυπημένου, ή πιωμένου, επιθυμώ να γράψω όλες τις θέσεις μου στα ελληνικά.
OT: put the above through Babelfish Greek to English translation and got this:
"When I took punctured, or pjwme'noy, I wish to write all my places in the Greek"
I'm none the wiser: it's all Greek to me.:)

I have a friend with dual citizenship, Greek-USA. He is native born Greek, an immigrant to England as a student and later to this country, now a USA citizen. He translated it for me.
Note to choirboy: He is amused.

Loosly translated, it means "When I get drunk, I like to post things to Greek".
Just seeing if anyone would take the bait and look it up...Apparently, it worked. :)

I don't know if we are the same blood-type.

UMD will sweep ND
Wisconsin will Sweep OSU - though it will be interesting to see OSU WCHA numbers for the first time this season. They trounced Northeastern but also lost an exhibition game . . . hmmmm.
Minnesota will sweep Mankato - but it will be closer than most think
SCSU will avalanche Bemidji, sweep city

I agree on all counts including the afterthoughts with the possible exception of SCSU vs. Bemidji. Huskies sweep but BSU may keep one game close.
The Buckeyes sure pasted NU last weekend & put up big points in the process. May see a close game in that one too. I'm thinking OSU will battle...and be in the battle for 4th with SCSU & MSU all the way.
Unlike Maine fans in attendance, I didn't see a large disparity between the Black Bears & Beavers during their game.
I think OSU and SCSU have better goaltending than Mankato and will both finish ahead of them. The only way Mankato finishes ahead of those 2 is if they get huge scoring from the SSP grads and from Lindsay Macy, the transfer from the Badgers.

I don't think either OSU or SCSU have a goalie markedly better than Kehler...but that's just me. Mavericks will need to score to help her out. Only two thirds of the famed SSP line intact now, and I don't know if they're even playing together, but they've added a couple more who can...or should score in addition to Macy.
