While, i've not seen an official schedule yet I do know that Plattsburgh will host a tournament on November 18 &19. I am guessing it is Middlebury/Williams/Elmira.

Stevey,
Schedules should be set for the upcoming year.
You seem to have some knowledge of the MIAC, any word on recruits for GAC, Bethel, St. Kate's or Hamline?

I know that on the Neumann thread there has been a lot of talk about them playing a rather hard schedule. The talk is that they are playing Middlebury, Bowdoin, Williams, Sacred Heart and the usual suspects from the ECAC West. Considering the strength of that conference I would say that Neumann is playing a very hard schedule next season.

Right now Oswego has a 20 game schedule and is looking to add a few more games to complete it. They have the 14 ECAC West games as well as 2 extra games versus Chatham for a total of 4. 2 against Plymouth State and an extra one against Utica as well.
10 home games and 10 away! Hopefully Elmira will be coming to Oswego next year for the 2 games so i can get a chance to see both play on the same ice!

Interesting to see that Superior isn't on the schedule that has to be a first.

Besides the usual NCHA conference schedule UW-Stevens Point will be playing St. Thomas and Gustavus in a Home and away series.
This will help clarify "The Best in the West" title.
I believe that UW-Superior will also be playing Gustavus this year.

Just glancing at the schedules posted so far, there doesn't seem to be much east-west interplay over the semester break as in past years. Only saw a amherst/river falls game. Travel cost playing a factor?

Is Middlebury's schedule posted yet? I believe they should be making a western trip this year as well as maybe Bowdoin. Those two seem to rotate trips out east/west with Stevens Point/Gustavus every year.
edit: I guess looking at Stevens Points schedule, they have no eastern teams on it. It could be travel costs, but I'm wondering if it isn't more the NCAA criteria playing a role. It was talked about a lot on the d3 mens side last year. But the out of region games do not count in the NCAA selection process, which seems to have less effect on the women because Middlebury, Point, Gustavus made it in anyway. But why travel across the country and play, and possibly lose to teams that aren't as good as you, which might have an effect if it comes down to two teams that are real close in the criteria. Take UWSP last year on their east trip, they lost to Bowdoin, which was at the time a pretty shocking loss to a lot of people. There were rumors last year that this policy of not counting the out of region games was going to be changing to include games while playing on the winter break, however, so I could be wrong...I'd like to see Superior get out and play the eastern teams. I've said it b4 and i'll say it again. A few years ago they asked the students to raise their fees for athletics a lot, and it doesn't really seem like much has come out of it, except maybe bringing our athletic dept out of the red. Hopefully they'll start scheduling those trips for the hockey teams. The baseball/softball teams go to texas/florida every spring and basketball usually travels to some tournament over break...why not the hockey teams.

Looking at the fragments of the whole DIII scheduling picture that are available I do not see any East-West action in '06-'07 prior to the NCAA tournament. There are no such meetings on the Plattsburgh, Manhattanville, Gustavus, St. Thomas, or Stevens Point schedules that have been posted and I did not hear any mention of games with Western opponents on the tentative Bowdoin schedule.
I heard a rumour about a Bowdoin trip to Florida to play a tournament in '07-'08, but no dates or opponents, nothing specific.

I am wondering if the addition of a couple of programs in the East has cut down some of the scheduling openings for non-conference games? I realize the new programs won't necessarily be playing the upper echelon out of conference but there must be a ripple effect as teams add more conference games.
