I'm wondering, will we be seeing a WCHA coaches poll anytime soon? I'm curious as to how they see things.

Hopefully there will be one out before the first week of WCHA games. I can only assume that it will look about the same as everyone on here has predicted it to look.

1-3: Wisconsin,Minnesota,Minnesota Duluth
4-5: MSU-Mankato, Ohio State
6-8: Bemidji State, North Dakota, SCSU

Hearing it from the coaches will be a big step towards the start of real hockey games.

not sure anyone predicted SCSU to finish in the bottom 3

what I was implying is after the top 3 its all a toss up. With the release of the coaches poll it will at least be some sort of a guage to see where the other teams may place.

1-2: Minnesota or Wisconsin
3-4: SCSU or UMD
5-7: BSU, MSUM, or OSU
8: UND

That's a general range I think...

Wisconsin fans might be judging SCSU too much based on their final game.

Jeff Giesen moved from assistant coach to head coach this year. He has a new staff with him. They brought in some of the top Minnesota high school players from last year. I haven't heard anything on transfers that would be eligible this year.

Go Raiders...
St. Cloud State
Danielle Hirsch-D (Shattuck-St. Marys) Fairbault MN
Kelly Meierhofer-D (Sauk Rapids-Sartell HS) Sauk Rapids MN
Jenaca Fredheim-D (Athol Murray College) Notre Dame
Caitlin Hogan-F (North St Paul HS) No. St. Paul MN
Katelyn Kemmerer-F (NAHA) Anchorage AK
Meghan Pezon-F (Eden Prairie HS) Eden Prairie MN
Holly Roberts-F (Warroad HS) Warroad MN

An excellent bunch of recruits by anyone's standards in my view. Word is Felicia Nelson has transferred in from MSU...but will sit the 2006-07 season of course. Characterize her as an excellent start to SCSU's next recruiting class. New head coach with a significant history with the program, new asst.'s that I would consider quality individuals. Very positive situation for the Huskies I'd say with good cause for optimism. I wouldn't rank them among the bottom three myself...but the WCHA should be very competitive this season. *If you don't play your best or up to your potential watch out.

*It'll most likely cost you.

brookyone/ARM or anyone else:

whats the status on the gopher goaltending?

They have both Chartier and Hanlon comming back. Will they split time or has one of them been named the starter?

Also how has Kim Hanlon? rehabbed from her injury last season.

I'd guess that they'll split time early in the season, and as someone emerges, then they'll play more down the stretch. Should know more about Hanlon's status over the next few days.

Some people (on this forum) have said that Martin will be the #1 at UMD by the end of the season.. but I agree with yours that Schaublin's the #1 here, and I think she still will be at the end of the year.
