Haven't had a chance to post this weekend (still in Minneapolis), but I just wanted to say thank you to the 'Cats for an outstanding season. While it didn't end as you/we had hoped, there's absolutly nothing to hang your heads about.

It's been a fun ride, and you did it with class this season. Congrats to Coach McCloskey and staff for putting together a group that did what no other school has done before (longest in-season unbeaten streak) and no other UNH team has done before (hockey east champs and most wins in school history).

Best of luck in the future to the three seniors, Hansen who's been here from the beginning of the re-building, Peters who joined us as a junior and McLaughlin who's experience, along with Peters, solidified a very young blue-line.

Enjoy the rest of the semester and the summer, and we'll see you again in the fall.

Congrats and thank you 'Cats

Tremendous season and a huge step forward. The seniors should be proud and I know they'll remember this year forever. The underclassmen should be equally proud and ready to move forward again. This team will be deep next year and competition will be intense for playing time. In their four years at the helm, this staff has made improvements each and every year. I expect that will be the case once again. It will be tough to stay up with this group and the incoming freshmen are only going to push the bar higher.

Lots of things to look forward to in Durham. Can't wait for next fall!!
Congrats to all the '06 team.

I hope that many Wildcat fans got to see this game or get to watch one of the CSTV replays because they'll see that UNH Women's Hockey is great entertainment worthy of their attention!

While I'm a basketball guy and attend a lot of UNH games home and away during the Winter, I will get to a women's hockey game next season. And watching that game Friday night made me realize that next year I need to make the effort to get up to Storrs when the Wildcats play UConn.

THANK YOU Cat's, for a truly memorable season.

No, you did not come home with the big prize....but that's OK. This team has made so many quantum leaps over the past few years, that it's only a matter of time before another Womens National Championship trophy winds up in Durham.

You demonstrated both poise and grit on the ice and added a growing following of dedicated fans. 2006-2007 will be another outstanding year.

Best of luck to Becky Peters, Amy McLaughlin and Lindsay Hansen for your hard work and leadership....without you, this team would not be where it is today.

THANK YOU CATS FOR AN AWESOME SEASON....YOU'VE MADE US ALL PROUD!!!

Hopefully the exposure from the FF, and the 2,000+ strong crowd vs. Harvard in the quarterfinals, will help bring some more fans in, these girls def. deserve it.

Just got back from Minnesota this afternoon… Ditto !! … to what everyone said before me … a remarkable season !! I had a chance to meet some of the “fan forum” members at the playoffs … fun and interesting individuals! Many of the forum “user name’s are appropriate to their personalities…
Also, I met some of the parents while in Minneapolis …all were very supportive and proud of their daughters’ accomplishments!! Next season should prove to be equally exciting and competitive… !!
Thanks for a fun year!! :D

One could say the same about you Wings. :D

There was a great contigent of parents there, every time I turned around someone new was introducing themselves. I didn't realize Becky Peters dad was a UNH alum. Also, spending 45 mins. outside the arena freezing to death with Mrs. Bourdon was interesting (though she's Canadian, so I was probably the only one freezing).

You were there that much longer after I took off? Didn't know that was Bourdon's mom. Cool.

Yeah, the guys got lost on their way around town and decided to cut their losses and find the hotel, then after that they still had to come back and get me. The cops kept circling every few mins., I'm sure they were thinking "Why is there someone in blue and white facepaint outside the arena at midnight?"

Not only a great season in terms of victory, they were entertaining to watch from start to finish. I loved the turnout of Blue & White faithful in Minneapolis- just a terrific following that bodes well for next year. I'd expect the Cat's regular season attendance to jump significantly next year.

The parents I met were fabulous. They should be incredibly proud of their daughters and how they represented themselves, the program and university.
This is a classy bunch of individuals and you can really sense their pride in what they're doing. It's going to be a great '07!

Melissa's mom is totally delightful (both her parents are great) and just a riot to talk with. A lot of the confidence UNH skates with is because they know they have Melissa between the pipes.

Not taking anything away from Mel, but I think the team is just as confident with Busa between the pipes.

Congrats to the Wildcats on a great year. Next up the banquet then it's on to next season.

Good luck to Peters, McLaughlin, Hansen. Hansen still has one more event in skates as a wildcat (the skills competition @ the men's frozen four)

Talked with a bunch of parents, but since I talk to them at most of the games at the Whitt, it was just another day.

Although I totally spaced on the meet and greet, it was good to meet wingsdad11. Unfortunately we didn't get to talk that much but there's always next year.

I really didn't like the older man that called himself a UNH fan. He crapped all over the team before the Wisconsin/SLU game, and if you post on the message board, you are a disgrace.

Kazoo, if it's any consolation- I met the same old fool- what a loser. What a sad case of "nothings good enough". He's obviously one of those human beings who's miserable in life and can't stand to see others enjoying success..
Thanks for being a great supporter- all you guys!!

Just saw the last Poll in USA Today listing UNH as third behind Wisconsin and Minnesota. I can live with Wisconsin, but would rank UNH ahead of the Gophers. Losing a close game to them shouldn't have negated what was otherwise a better season. just my opinion.....

Congrats to Brian McCloskey and his staff. Having known Brian from his days with brown and UNH men's programs, I know he is a true gentleman and a master recruiter.

I had previouslyy met Joyce's dad at BU, but I think Sadie's parents were the only parents I met....at least who introduced as parents.

Did I run into you without knowing it?

We'll definately need a UNH meet and greet at the Whitt next year.
I'm sure Cloud 9 will be all over arranging it. :D

That guy was extremely annoying. His seat was Section 18, Row 14 Seat 8. I only know this because we were supposed to be in Row 13 Seats 1-4 but after meeting him we didn't want to be anywhere near the guy. I saw him talking to the Bellamys during the NC game but all of the other parents didn't know who he was, just thought he was annoying.

Thanks, I think we won the cheering battle in Minnesota. Other than their state spelling bee cheer, they seemed to be in a library.

I think I met that guy  ... Anyway, I forgot to thank the UNH "pep squad" for their great support! You guys are always at the games regardless of the fan turnout or the score ! ... definitely HARDCORE FANS!!
Finally, ... we may have lost the hockey game to Minnesota but
the UNH "pep band" kicked some gopher butt ... without the aid of tuba's! :p
