This may sound a little dumb but I was wondering if any other schools' fans cheer at the games? I know they make noise for close shots or clap when their team scores but I haven't really heard noise at any arena I've been to (other than ours) Cloud 9 tells me a lot of schools do.
Maine fans tried to say "New Hampshire loves the icing" @ the Matthews (after Maine iced it 6 straight times) but that was basically the only organized cheer I heard, that weekend.
If I had to guess, I would say Minnesota does, because I went to the men's frozen four a couple of years ago there, and they were paying $500-$1500 for semi-finals and finals tickets.
Just curious.

I tire of hearing "Let's go Gophers" as much as they tire of "U-M-D". Those are mainly the one's you hear out here. And, I think mostly when they play each other. Certainly, it's one of the things that adds to the atmosphere of the UMD/UM games.

M-I-N-N-E-S-O-T-A, MINNESOTA...MINNESOTA...you know the rest. ;)
It's a cheer I always imagined opposing fans / players found especially annoying.

I was going to include UMD in there also, but I have never been to a UMD game so I wasn't sure. I will say that I would be pretty intimidated if UMD and Minnesota make it to the Mariucci, as well as UNH because it would probably be one of us for every 100+ of people from Minnesota. (there will be 4 of us leading UNH cheers out there (assuming UNH gets there). Maybe we should all have a meet and greet like the men's fans have.

But, it only happens when/if they score . . . not a "cheer" per se. It only suggessts that MN fans can immitate - not spell, and indeed, very annoying.

Whaddya mean? I typed that post without the benefit of the cheer recorded on tape or listening to others while I typed. Speaking of immitate, do Bulldog fans even know what U-M-D stands for ??

OK, so it's been established that UNH, Minnesota, and UMD cheer during womens games. Anyone else?
Wisco can put together a pretty mean "Sieve" chant that drowns out the player intros. Usually, they only do it at home games when they got a few guys banging on drums instead of a real band, but who knows what they might cook up for the NCAAs.
Harvard had a pretty good group of girls last year, I don't know if they were the JV team, or another varsity team, but they came out in sports bras with their bodies painted in letters to spell out Harvard. At the Dartmouth game they had another girl in a big inflatable cow outfit with pink tu-tu and a sign that said something along the lines of GO Dartmouth Figure Skaters.
It was hilarious, and probably one of the best displays of student support I can remember seeing (not including the UNH gang down on the glass of course ;) ) at a women's game.

I was at the Clarkson series and got to see them, uh, up close and personal, if you know what I mean. Yeah, they were "entertaining". Very supportive of the Lady Crimson. And definitely a breath of fresh air in the rarified air of the ECACHL. Hope to see them again next year. The tall blonde was a tall glass of water and pretty hot.

I've heard the Harvard band can get pretty in to it. Anyone know if they are making the trip to the Whitt? I'm assuming they'll head to Albany instead...

I'm guessing that the band will head to Albany. Unfortunately, the women will always play second fiddle to the guys when the two teams play on the road at the same time in their respective tournaments. In 2004, both the men and women had their tournaments on the same weekend at Union and in Albany so I believe the band was able to make it back and forth for all the games.
