I saw Morh play the other night, he's rockin the porn stash. Looks like he belongs on the 86 team over the 06 team!

I'm not sure if this means he's a capable replacement or not. Sorry, I'm 40.

Is Papelbon going to be the closer permanently? This **** is screwing my fantasy team.

Best case scenario: No. Foulke would come back and take that role back. Papelbon sets up or becomes a starter. All is well.

Worst case scenario: Yes. Foulke doesn't recover, Papelbon stays as closer for the forseeable future.

Thanks.

(For what it's worth, 1.00 WHIP and 3.00 ERA in 3 innings - seems fine to me! )

Is it confirmed that Wells is coming back this week? ESPN has Wells pitching Wed and Clement pitching on Thurs.
(I got tix for thurs hoping to see Schilling, d'oh! Though we got decent seats cheap(ish) so it'll still be fun!)

Poor Coco. Is it panic time?

Not that it's the best source in the world (I hate this Eric Wilbur guy), from Boston.com...
The Red Sox have called a news conference at Fenway Park for 3 p.m., at which time it is expected they will announce a contract extension for slugger David Ortiz.

Crisp is out at least 10 days with a broken index finger. He'll be reevaluated then.

That still sounds better than Channel 4's 8 week prediction.

A question: will Wily Mo get some time at CF? Or is he too much of a corner guy to move over? We all know Stern is pretty good defensively, will he take most of the ABs?

Wily Mo has played somewhere around 80 games in CF on the major league level. He doesn't have the physical body type of a "normal" CF, but he is serviceable out there and with his bat it may be worth the chance. With the already poor defense in the OF (no offense to Trot) and with the Sox heading to fenway I would expect Stern to get the majority of the starts for now, but there is no reason to believe that WMP is unable to play some CF if needed.

Oh crap. I'm going Thursday, I don't want to see Clement. Boo. Though, it looks like rain, so we might not get to see anyone.

Here's the story on Ortiz. (http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2006/04/10/boston_slugger_agrees_to_four_year_contract_extens ion/) Yay!

I don't understand why Red Sox fans are so hard on Clement.

It's not like he's Jaret Wright or Carl Pavano.

If it weren't for sprinkler heads, we'd be talking about how Barry Bonds was chasing after Mickey Mantle's records.

People just remember how awful he was towards the end of last seaons, forgetting that for a time he was the only reliable starter we had last year.

Same with Foulke. Yeah, he sucked monkey balls last year, but without him we'd still be hearing "1918" chanted ad nauseum...
