Papi. Get it right, bandwagoner.

Also accepted is "Danger" Ortiz: when he played for the Twins, the music that played before he came out was the DMX song that started out with DMX screaming "DANGJA! DANGJA! GET ON THE FLO'!" and some local fans just started calling him Danger. :)

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. You're stupid. Never mention that again.

I can't help it if I was on the DANGER ORTIZ bandwagon before the Red Sox were even looking at how good he could be. You Ortiz newbie. :p

Hey, it wasn't my team who gave him up for nothing. And it's not like he was in the twilight of his carreer.... :o

Honestly, Ortiz would not have the numbers he has in Boston if he stayed in MN.

1. Turf. Always injured him.
2. High left field wall. Very high. Lotta doubles, but that really means nothing because of...........
3. The Twins don't have a lineup even remotely close to the Sox, especially then.

Add all those up, and Ortiz looked like someone with the tools, but not the ethic/heart/blah blah even though that was far from the truth. :)

I was sad to see him go, but it was for the best.

It was all because the Red Sox's hitting coach fixed the hole in Ortiz's swing.

Papa Jack is a great hitting coach. Dont forget that after the 03 season Ortiz went through an entire offseason without taking BP off a righty. He insisted that every AB in his workouts were coming from a LHP. Needless to say he hits lefties much better now (sorry Washburn).

Supposedly alot was done to Lowell's swing towards the end of this spring training. He is on a short leash on my fatasy waiver wires. If he hits another HR this week (or heck hits above .250) I am picking him up.

Oh, and the San Diego game is on ESPN2. Bellhorn just K'd a few minutes ago. Ha.

I agree. The fact that he thought that was DMX, and didn't know it was Mystikal is mind-bogglingly stupid.

Whatever. I don't keep up on one-hit wonders. Or did he have two hits? :p ;)

I remember the song now that you said Mystikal, though. "Shake Ya asterisk."

You young whippersnapper rapscallion, you.

You should stab yourself in the brain with a q-tip for knowing that.

Ok, this asterisk business has to stop.

Ok, I'll stop. Really, though what is with Foulke? Is he just done? Or will he be one of those guys who will always give you a heart attack, but get the job done?

No, he seems on the darker side of medium rare. :(

His fastball needs to be 89-90, otherwise his 81-82 MPH changeup turns into a meatball. And his fastball is hovering around 85-86. And it's been that way since April of '05. I think he'll be on a very short leash.

That said, we Sox fans should never, ever, ever forget what he did during the '04 season. Don't boo him. Get frustrated, yes. But without him, we'd still be hearing that GD 1918 nonsense.

He was a meaningless HR away from being WS MVP, and he actually was one of the more dominant pitchers of ANY postseason in '04.

He's a good guy, he tells it how it is. Foulke will always be ok in my book.

Actually, I have him on my FBBL team, as my 3rd closer. Who's the next guy in line? Timlin? This Hansen character?

Exactly. I wish he didn't come as such a jerk, because Red Sox Nation owes him a lot of gratitude. I'll never, ever, ever forget "a ground ball, stabbed by Foulke. He underhands to first..."

Probably Papelbon, until Hansen is ready - which may not be this year. Papelbon was a closer through college. The guy's a total bulldog.

Haunted is correct, Papelbon closed in college and is 2nd to Foulke. I would think Hansen might get a shot at it over Timlin, dunno why, just a hunch.

From what I have read, should Foulke not work out, it would be Timlin's job until Papelbon was ready to close.
