Any takers to respond? Good opportunity to provide info/insight to a men's hockey fan base (at hfboards) that has very little or no knowledge about the women's game. Great chance to increase visiblity right now...

First thing I tell people about Women's College Hockey is don't compare it to the men's game - it's apples and oranges. I find the women's game to be more about puck handling and skill than the men's game because of the checking rules. It's a different game that I enjoy for different reasons than I enjoy the men's game.

My only complaint is for the time being (at least in Div III) is the difference between the top teams and the bottom teams is enormous. A game between top and bottom teams are sometimes hard to watch. But get a game between two premiere programs (games with Elmira, Bowdoin, Middlebury, Stevens Point, etc.), and I'm as excited to watch as any of the men's games.

Tell them that no one posts on their board because everyone posts on our board.

There might still be a bottom 10% that are a long way behind because of turmoil, lack of funding, or just being new. But a team that is about 20th in the country is a lot closer to the top 5 than they once were, meaning a lot more of the games are now "watchable".

I would agree with the above. While Union and Vermont are still struggling and are way behind the other schools in the ECACHL, one need only look at Mercyhurst and Minnesota State to see how fast a D-1 program can rise from relative obscurity to national attention. For that matter, UConn, BC and BU are making strides as well.
