Anyone who saw this rout; NU was playing well until SChULER pulled their goalie and sat her top players. She did the same thing in NU's first two Providence games and NU lost both 6-2, 7-2. It appears NU has a serious coaching problem. It was an embassrement to NU and hockey east.

Why is NU having coaching problems all the time? Didn't they just "fix" a coaching problem?

First, I was not in attendance, but I have to ask the question; if your information is ACCURATE, why would a coach do such a thing?, to send a message?,.....something must be going on with this team's performance for a coach to just pack-it-in and let them get pounded,.....it's not good for either team involved or the league, so if I'm Joe Bertagna, I will review the situation and if necessary, say something to the NU coach, and all the coaches on the women's side about league expectations when it comes to competition, either within or out of league play,.....

According to the game report on the NU web site, all three goalies played for a time. The goalie who played the most was inserted about halfway through the second period after goalie number two had let in her third (the team's sixth) goal of the day. The goalie who finished the game hadn't played in a varsity game in about two seasons.
Maybe it was just a bad day.

Can't speak for removing your best skaters (although NU did muster 24 of their 30 shots in the LAST two periods) but as far as the netminding... the way I read it is that their "regular" who has 23 decisions thus far this year (Marisa Hourihan (L, 4-18-1) ) started the game and gave up two goals on the only two shots at her in the first 9:05. Sarah Belliveau took over midway thru the FIRST period, gave up 4 goals on 7 shots in 21:02 of action and was relieved by Katy Augustyn who finished the last 29:53 of the game giving up 4 goals on 13 shots. The only way you can blame the skaters for poor stoppage like that is if each and every goal and most of the shots were out-and-out breakaways.

I have also heard this, she had a slightly above .500 season with Umass Boston and then took over the Northeastern program and was supposed to make and immediate impact and bring the program back to National prominence but all I ever see are complaints on here about Shuler. Who can give us the real scoop someone must be close to the players and can give us some insight.

First of all, somebody's previous coaching has nothing to do with why she was hired by her alma mater, or why the record is what it is, 2 years later,.....and who would say such a thing like national prominence with a program that was struggling the last 6 or 7 years?,.....yes, they have had a couple of stretches where the program was very competitive, but lately, it's been a challenge,.....are there problems internally?, PERHAPS, but I, for one, really don't know,.....IF there are problems in the NU lockeroom, they will always be magnified when the team is losing,.....the lockeroom still has players from the past coaching regime, and it's not entirely fair to judge this coach without her own recruits,.....anybody can complain about losing teams, and unless the complaints have content, they are meaningless,.....

Well said camman15. I have to believe that oletimer is a disgruntled parent of one of NU's players (obviously one that isn't getting the icetime he would like to see). He continues to trash Schuler with statements that make no hockey sense whatsoever. And for heavens sake oletimer, buy a dictionary.

I didn't see the game, I heard it online. From what I heard NU goalies struggled. Pulling the first goalie after letting in 2 goals on 2 shots was a prudent coaching decision. It also appeared that all of NU goalies were just having a bad game, out front they had 30 shots on UConn, and were only able to convert 1.
It just wasn't their day.
My personal thoughts.
