 ....wow what a pick-up for Manhattanville if this is true?!
Longo, Nonis and Zimmerman would form one of the top sophomore combos in the country if not the best.

Not sure if she will be skating for Manhattanville or not but she didn't quit, she was asked to leave the team for disciplinary reasons.

Very True Prez
Mville and Platts play each other the last 2 games of the season
will be fun to watch
Hope it is true
it will give Mville a nice advantage over other teams with only 1 or 2 top lines

IF it is true it makes for total understanding. She has a player currently at Manhattanville who is a close friend. The two played together for a long time. Buried a lot of pucks behind goalkeepers together at a Prep school in upstate New York. IF it is true those two are fun to watch. But can a player move from one hockey club to another in the middle of the season?

Ashley Wadkins moved from BU to NEC over the break. That was D1 to D3 so I don't know if that makes a difference.
I know some male players who transferred schools over the break last year. I thought there was a rule about the player would still have to be eligible to play at the former institution. The rule is to prevent a player who would otherwise be ineligible to obviate the ineligibility by transfer. I remember a former Northeastern player who had issues, transferred to a D3 school but still had to sit due to issues at the former school. Maybe someone knows the rule.

As far as i know in womens hockey all a player needs is a release from its former school
Not sure if the release is from the Coach or AD
If any of those two dont sign... she can still obtain one by going to the NCAA

Coach Houle runs a tight ship, and has the highest expectations of his players. If someone is asked to not come back or is dismissed from the team, it is for a good reason. Perhaps a fresh start is just what Ms. Longo needs. Best of luck to her with MVille.

Not the only new player at Manhattanville as they picked up a Canadian player, Dee Nagymarosi (Durham Lightning) over the break too. She has already made an impact there.

As usual a class post by Bill R. Longo had participated very little here this season and the team has one loss. The scoring has been strong and Coach H had brought in several new impact offensive players. Do not like to see a player leave perhaps it is best for all. Good Luck to all.

You are allowed to transfer without sitting out at a DIII school as long as you gain permission from the Athletic Department. If she transferred from a DIII to DI she would have to wait I believe but if you transfer from DI to DIII it is okay to I believe.

Correct scoopandroll, a player can transfer without sitting out, a player can simply self-release from DIII to DIII, a form easily attainable off the NCAA website. The player will not need any permission from the school she is leaving but obviously will need to do all paperwork and get the current athletic departments approval.

I can see the transfer of students in good standing without penalty. But if they were to become academically ineligible at a school they could transfer over the break to avoid the academic issues? Something doesn't seem right.

Best of luck to her with MVille. For whatever reason, Coach Houle must have felt her presence was detrimental to the team. I’m sure Coach Houle wishes the best for Ms. Longo and you’re right on with the fresh start. My point, however, was IF she continues to be a disciplinary problem it could disrupt her new team. There have been many talented players I have been happy to see land on opposing teams because of the disruption they can cause. This doesn’t mean that a different environment can’t produce different results. I don’t know Ms. Longo but certainly wish her well.

I don't see a confirmation here of this, so I'll just post for the record Jamie is listed on Manhattanville's official website. Interesting development...

It appears to me that there is much talk over this. I see a lot of Plattys games as I live quite close and am avid fan of this game. I am finding out that there are plenty of roster movements and switches. This is just another. Many clubs lose one player or two per semester and I think Platty also lost the National Sports Academy freshman forward this semester also. I did not see her name on the roster.
So Platty has two players who have left. I assume it happens and that is the way it is. Good fortune to all. Live and let live.
