If UNH wins tonite... anyone know where I can catch the game on Fox Sports New England in Troy or Albany?
(Sorry, this thread is aimed at people that are familiar with the capital region.;) )
Also, anyone down with a pick up game at the Knick in Troy tomorrow (March 1)?

I was looking through the 3/7/03 issue of The Hockey News which has Central League stats and found the following.
Austin Icebats
Pat Brownlee D 50-9-14-23-28
and
Tulsa Oilers
Jared Reigstad D 51-4-11-15-73
I may have missed someone else.

Good article about a Binghamton-Albany game yesterday which is mainly about Brian Pothier who had a goal and two assists in Binghamton's 3-0 win. http://www.timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=111003&category=SPORTS&newsdate=3/1/2003

Two good posts Ralph. We don't get much news from the Central League. Thanks.
Matt Murley had two goals last night. Lets hope he put his "other problem" behind him.
Danny Riva had an assist and seems to be playing very well since his trade to the Ducks.
The best news of the night was probably Mark Murphy scored last night for the first time in about two months. After a great start this year, he was sidelined with an ankle injury around Christmas and has played very little since then. Good luck the rest of the way Mark.:)

Tapper was not in the line up last night against the Ducks. He is still with the Thrashers. Do not know if he is hurt or just a healthy scratch.
Mark Murphy scored his second goal since coming back. :)

It is amazing how fast the Ottawa Senators can move. I noticed on their site that Pothier was brought up on Mar 1st and sent down on Mar. 1st and actually played a game for them on Mar 1st.
I wonder if they had to pay him for the whole day?
It has got to be tough trying to run a team like that. :(

Pothier called up again today, look for him to be in the line up against the Maple Leafs tonight.

EHF-Yes Brad was a healthy scratch for the Anaheim game. With the season winding down and the chance of Atlanta moving into the playoffs about nil, look for them to try to get a look at some of their other young players currently in Chicago. They will have to free up a few spots for them unless new injuries occur so anyone whose contract allows them to be sent down, a two way contract, is in jeopardy. Also with the trade deadline looming, and a few teams in borderline playoff positions, look for some trade activity. Although the Thrashers do not have much that teams want, Kozlov is certainly getting looked at. Others are either untouchable for trade or just not what teams are looking for. The salaries the Thrashers pay are pretty attractive though for teams to shop since very few players make big numbers.

Yes, they do, but not after first picking up some fresh hounds in Watertown. (I still think the Courtesy 'Team Duster' would be quite the ride to pull in to Ottawa... it would turn heads all over town. )

Not sure how many of us realize how difficult this constant travel really is. It is bad enough when you are stable on one team but add to that the variable call ups and the frequent trips back down to the AHL. For guys who are recently married it has got to be a pretty great strain on the marriage. Wives either staying in one place or moving from hotel to hotel. Those pulling down large salaries have at least that to ease the situation but many of these guys are making the league minimum or less and have no idea where they will be the next day. I am sure that trades happen rapidly without the knowledge in advance or any sort of warning for most players.

Mar 5th Pothier gets two assists for Binghamton. Ottawa site didn't bother to mention that they sent him back.
Healey had two assists in a game against Portland where Mark Murphy had a goal and an assist.
Not a bad night for the alum.:)

Ralph: Kind of like a two minute minor for obstruction I guess

Tapper played about 10 minutes last night and made the score sheet with a fighting major.
He is certainly not being used the way he was when he was brought up.
I can not tell what line he is on at this point, and I am not sure what his role is right now.
The only positive at this point is that he is still in Atlanta.:(

ehf: Cannot divulge sources but Brad is on his way to Houston to play for Chicago of the AHL tonight. He is not with Atlanta as of today. He had a very successful stint there though and is still one of their top 5 or 6 scorers in spite of limited ice time and playing less than half a season. Some other team has got to be noticing this.

DrD, no need to divulge anything as the information is on the Thrashers web site.
I think that Brad showed them what he was capable of and now they are looking at other players. I don't know if he will be back in the NHL again this year, but surely next year will be very significant in his career.
With the trade deadline coming up, the Thrashers could be involved in sending a veteran to help a contender, so there may be some openings later this month.

ehf: Brad is under contract to the Thrashers for next year also. The trading deadline is next Tuesday. I do not think they have anything they are willing to trade that any playoff contender is looking for but you never know. I would suspect Nashville is so close to a playoff spot that they would be a likely team to look for that last piece of the puzzle. Interesting though that wherever Brad seems to play, regardless of his statistics and contributions, the teams seem to do well. The Thrashers were a .500 team with him in the line up and that might have been good enough to be a playoff team this year if it carried through for the full year. It will be interesting to see how they do in their last 17 games without him since they have a very favorable schedule with 10 games at home and mostly non playoff teams to play. With some of the financial woes present in the NHL right now, and the abundance of European players, it will become increasingly difficult for our RPI boys to make much headway.

Tapper and Cavosie faced off last night in the Chicago/ Houston game in the AHL with each getting an assist and each a +1 for the game. Must be tough to get on a plane during the early hours in Atlanta and fly to Houston and be on the ice at full speed in only a few hours.
