Last week, Cornell was rated 11th; this week, after beating Quinnipiac and Princeton, they're rated 9th, advancing 2 places.
Last week, Colgate was rated 13th; this week, after beating Quinnipiac and Princeton, they're rated 13th, staying the same.
How does that figure?

You're right. Cornell is overrated in the polls right now.
Of course, the polls don't matter.

The polls certainly matter in terms of qualifying for the NCAA Tournament. I agree with you though, they don't matter now so much as later ...

This isn't division IA football. The polls don't matter at all. What matters is the PWR, and Colgate is ahead of Cornell in the PWR right now.
Anyway, where's the poll?

The polls matter as much as this one, ohh wait this one doesn't exist  , please understand that the poll voters don't get a chance, or choose not, to watch every team so they vote on a combination of talent they think the team has, record, which teams the particular team has beaten, team name and history, and based on the mood they are in (which depends how much the wife was screaming during the week). If all the Cornell haters wait until March when Cornell seed for the tourney (ya know that thing that means something) and if it is too high in your opinion, which I generally think it is, but not by much you can gripe. Wait 3 and a half months for the sake of this board. If we could on the other hand make a "Gripe about Cornells High Ranking" subforum to go along with the "Day to Day occurences of Phil 'God over Gods' Kessel" that is currently under construction.

No, they don't.
SIMPLE MATH matters.
I'll state the obvious:
Where's the poll?
I love the people who complain about polls in DECEMBER! Worry in February...
Unless the season ends today... in which case...
CONGRATULATIONS THE 2005-2006 HE CHAMPION PC FRIARS! ;)

I guess that in this thread, just like at USCHO, the poll doesn't matter

Just out of curiosity, hockeydad8, are you one of the Colgate players' fathers?

Please explain.
He thinks that college hockey is like D1 Football, where the Harris Poll and Coaches Poll factor into the BCS, I sure hope hes not the father of a Colgate player because his knowledge of College Hockey is on the low side  .

Let's see. As of the morning of December 9, Cornell is 13th in RPI, 13th in PWR, 13th in KRACH, 11th in the USA Today Poll, and 9th in the USCHO poll. Yep - overrated.
But not so badly that I'd bother starting a thread about it if the same situation occurred with another team, because doing so would just make me look like a whiny sissy.
(board, please note that I'm not calling anyone names - just my hypothetical self!) ;)

Now why is it that
Each time a team
Wins or loses a game, some new
Board registrant needs to
Indulge in this type of
Erratic and despondent posting behavior?
