Below are my latest DI computer rankings. I am currently working on getting the website automated, with the rankings updated every morning. That should be ready next week.

Question/Comment: I have included Rensselaer in my computer rankings. I have also included them in my RPI calculations. If you look at their schedule, they only play 18 games against teams that play 20 DI games. Rensselaer has four games against Sacred Heart, but SH does not count as 20 DI game program. Should I include them in the computer rankings? As of today, thanks to their unbeaten record, they are 7th in RPI. Is Rensselaer eligable for the post season this year? Just looking for opinions.

For some reason, there may be a bunch of whitespace before the rankings. I am working on it. May only be a Firefox in Linux thing.

Edit - OK, so it looks bad in IE as well. I will try and figure this out.
Edit II - I am baffled. I'll live with this for now, but if anybody has any suggestions... All it is HTML table code.

Lakersfan - embed the HTML in the message board's code tags, and it works fine. I don't know the exact technical reason for why the straight HTML code acts strange, but it probably has something to do with parameters set elsewhere on the page, through a style sheet or a larger table.

The exact wording of the 2005 handbook is, "Divisions I and II institutions that wish to be considered for selection to the National Collegiate Championship must schedule a minimum of 20 games against Divisions I and II opponents." So the way I read that, RPI will be eligible, but then again, the committee doesn't have to do what the handbook says. I think it's clear though that RPI is a good enough team that the committee will value results against them.

IIRC, RPI lost a year of eligibility for the postseason last year because of the timing of their announcement of plans to elevate the program to D1. I am not sure if they are eligible this year, but my guess is that the schedule might have been developed the way it was (18 D1 games instead of 20) in order to ensure this was 100% a "building" year for their official entrance into D1 as part of the ECAC next season.
Being biased, however, I really appreciate you including them into your rankings...it's nice to see how they compare right now :D

Whether RPI is tournament eligible isn't as relevant a question as whether games against them count in the tournament selection process. It matters a lot for RPI opponents like Colgate and Clarkson who could possibly end the season squarely on the tournament bubble.

Well I know RIT doesn't factor in to the rankings for the men and their are a D-1 Independant, so I assume that RPI doesn't and shouldn't factor in.

OK, I have word that games against RPI will count in the tournament selection process, but they are not eligible for selection. Colgate does not get a free pass for going 0-1-1 against them.

I was looking at their schedule as is posted on this site and it appears that they have 2 games on 1/28/06 vs. Clarkson and SLU on the same day, it has to be some kind of error right?
