Dartmouth and other ECAC fans may be interested to hear about today's exhibition game in Hanover. Although the final score was 3-2 McGill, the Big Green dominated almost the entire game and outshot their opponents about 4 to 1. Everyone I spoke to was impressed with how well the team played together considering there are 8 first-year players and 2 others who did not play last year (and this being the first game after only 1 week of "offiicial" practices).
Overall, the dartmouth passing was sharp and there were many excellent scoring chances. The freshmen looked good out there.
Danielle Grundy scored both goals for the Green. Welcome back Grundy!!!

I believe the official shots on goal were Dartmouth 51, McGill 13. I agree that Dartmouth looked pretty sharp, particularly as the game wore on. The second McGill goal was an unfortunate (for Dartmouth) shot from beyond the blue line that the new goalie (Clemis) missed with her glove. I'm not sure if she was screened, but it was an unfortunate mistake. They did play well for having only a week of coached practices.

Yup, they split 50/50 Lane/Clemis. Lane saw about 9 shots (1GA), Clemis about 4 (2GA).

Hey ffl!
It was one of those games where "all" the action was down the other end and I think our goalies were not really in the groove. The goal mentioned by dartfan looked like it was misjudged. It appeared as if it would be an easy save; I can only guess that the puck may have taken a last second dip or something like that. A couple of the goals were on odd-man rushes; at least once the D pinched inappropriately, resulting in a McGill break and a goal. I think that is just a matter of the freshmen adjusting to the college game. McGill, to their credit, sure took advantage of Dartmouth's few mistakes.
On the other hand the dartmouth offense looked really good, the McGill goalie came up big on a # of occasions. There were a lot of good quality shots and scoring opportunities.
As you can tell from paying so much attention to an exhibition, I have been starved for hockey!!!
On another note, ffl, have you seen much of Team CAN out in Calgary?

dayglo I haven't been over to the rink to check out the practises or games. The local games are now on my calendar. I promise to report back. Hopefully I'll see you in Hanover before too long. GO BIG GREEN
