Team Canada faces Team USA tonight at 8p.m. CT. The game will be televised on TSN. Should be an interesting contest. Another game is scheduled for Saturday.
Based on Team USA's play last weekend, I'm not liking their chances against Team Canada at this point of the season.

I couldn't agree with you more. I saw the Friday game and they didn't look good other than the second period. There seemed to be a few players on the US team that I felt were a little overmatched by the WCHA players. I can't imagine how bad it will be against Canada.

Total agreement with both of you. I did see both games. Just to share a few of my comparison observations. Although the scores do not reflect it, the second game was close in play. Friday, the national team was executing some pretty plays in front of the net. Saturday, the all-stars defense stepped it up and foiled many of those same plays. Don't get me wrong, the nationals "threesome" still looked good. At one point on Friday, the all-stars were out shot 30-3 and Saturday, they actually lead in shots for awhile. Though they logged quite a few shots, they were not able to fully complete plays at the net. A result of good USA defense and very well a lack of team practice. At the DECC I was sitting behind the USA box. For a time in the second period, the look of frustration was evident on the faces of some of the players coming off the ice at shift change. The third period the national team turned it on registered many shots.
Also, a much more physical game at the DECC. IMO, the refs let it go a little too far. It was fun to watch, but couldn't help but be a little concerned about injuries.
Given the all-stars had only two practices together on Thursday going into Friday's game, I thought their play was remarkable. I would have liked to have seen this match up if they could have had perhaps a week together. Even on their individual teams, the all-star players have been on the ice for maybe a month and less than a week with their coaches leading up to this. Good job by the all-stars goaltenders. Not sure of how I would rank them. Pretty even I guess. Maybe Emily a notch up on Ritta only because of fewer goals scored on her in each game. In any event, a tip of the hat to all players. It was a fun way to start the season. :D

Unfortunately I think Team USA will get throttled pretty good in both of these games. I really cannot see Team USA even making the games close!
Game 1: 8-2 Canada
Game 2: 7-2 Canada
I think we're heading back to the days where the blowout was the norm for Team Canada.
Makes one wonder what kind of effect having Cammi on the team would have made. That leadership, support, and calmness from a cagey old veteran seems to be sorely missing here with this version of the team. Cammi could bring everything back into perspective easily for everyone. So sad!

FYI, Canada appears to have live stats tonight:

Why aren't Botterill or Vaillancourt on the roster for tonight's game?
Ok, so I take back the question....they are now listed on the roster for the game.

I can't get the live scoresheet to work. Is it showing a penalty for anyone else?

Us killed penalty and Canada now has one. Wendell and Darwitz are the only ones with shots on net.
