With the event starting tomorrow, it's time to start a new thread.
Someone asked in another thread if there was any way to listen to games. The Cup was not broadcast last year when it was in the U.S., so I don't see much hope in it being broadcast from Finland. Live stats were available from Hockey Canada last year and from the Swedish federation's site the year before that. Maybe check Finland's site? http://www.finhockey.fi/ So far the only Finnish I've figured out is that Kanadaa means Canada.
Canada had its exhibition against Finland yesterday.

Piper seems to make a difference again. Sure she's playing with more fire after all the disappointments from last season.

Finland does indeed have a site set up for the tournament:
http://www.finhockey.fi/maajoukkueet/naisten_maajoukkue/kausi_2005-2006/neljan_maan_turnaus_28_8-4_9_200/
Canada beats Sweden 3-1.
Goals by Botts and two by Wick, Canada comes back from 1-0 down.
To get to the "live" stats, go to "Games Today" and click the Game number under "No." I believe it's a six-hour time difference, so the US-Finland game starts at 12:30? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Hockey Canada said Wickenheiser, from Shaunavon, Sask., is believed to be the first woman to reach the 100-goal milestone in international play.
Is Cammi not over 100? Or has USA Hockey erased her from the history books too? :p

I think the USA just lost to Finland 1-0... I could be wrong... I don't read Finnish.
But I do read English and now that the Finnish site is updated, it appears that the USA is either leading 5-2 or has won 5-2...

If you click on the number to the left of the game, you can get the live stat tracker. It wasn't working for awhile, but it appears to be working now.
Actually, the game is probably over and it's just updating after the fact.

The Sweden-Canada game got 600+ fans and Finland-USA got 200+. Is this tournament really at Finland?
Is there...or will there be any television coverage of this tournament?

2-0 Canada over USA after 2 periods. Becky Kellar and Dana Antal have the goals. Shots 24-15 in favor of Canada, probably helped in part by 4 consecutive U.S. penalties in the second frame (Canada just 1 minor). Shari Vogt and Sami Jo Small in goal.

Word from Finland is that US D are having trouble with the speed of the Canadians. That is why the penalties were called. Canada came on strong since the drop of the puck, but may not be able to continue the tempo in the third.
