Now that the NHL has adopted the shootout, do you think the NCAA should adopt it for regular season games? (see other thread for discussion),

Note that "as it is" means that the shootout doesn't count as far as the NCAA is concerned. The game was a tie and the tournament organizers used the shootout to determine advancement or the tournament winner.

I say take one player off for each 5 min overtime, and eventually you will pretty much have a shoot out.

Either that, or just have two players fight to decide the game...

Seeing two coaches on the ice(no skates) duke it out would be sweet.

That should be required of all NHL games regaurdless.

I hate Toronto... but Pat Quinn sure looks like he's gotten into a few bar room brawls in his day. Just be careful of that Phoenix coach, I think they just hired Semenko as an assistant.

NO leave shootout out of college game. I gave up my Bruins tickets when the strike started and have become a huge college fan. The NHL so far is not any better than it was.

I support youth, high school, college, and the NHL hockey with my interest, sportswear purchases and paid attendance at games.

I'm all for a shootout during the regular season. I'd like to see a shootout after a 5 minute 4-on-4 ot. That is totally cool to see.

Shoot-out = One skilled player vs. Goaltender

Hockey = Team Sport.

These two do not mix. Sure it's fun to watch breakaway goals scored...but its not fair to the guys who just played 65 mins of hockey.
