anything postponed due to weather yet? I don't believe there will be, but you never know.

It was just posted that the East Grand Forks at Bemidji game has been cancelled. I'm sure there could be a few more in the North.

From today's StarTribune:

Nothing's changed
The Stillwater girls' hockey team won its first Class 2A state championship last season, and it has started this season looking very much like the team to beat in 2008.

The Ponies are 8-0 and have shut out their past five opponents. For the season, they have outscored the opposition 32-7. Callie Dahl leads the team with 10 goals, followed by Allison Schwab with nine. Sophomore goaltender Marah Sobczak has four of the five shutouts.

As always, taking the polls with a grain of salt. Who are the 4 voters anyway? I wonder how many teams the 4 AA voters have actually seen play.

A guess would be they're the same 4 that previously voted for EP unanimously.

Cloquet (CEC) beat Proctor/Hermantown/Marshall 2-1, outshooting them 28-20. Found out, PHM's been playing with their backup goaltender during their run of good play (about 3 weeks now) as their normal starter's had a knee injury but did dress as the backup tonight (dunno if she's dressed as the backup throughout or not.)

Trying to cover all the bases. These multiple sites with such sporadic cooperation from the teams is unfortunate...for HS team / player -- records, results and stats enthusiasts.

Cloquet over Hill Murray 3-1.. News Tribune says Cloquet's goaltender Sarah Gustafson faced 32 shots, while Hill Murray had two goaltenders who each faced 8 shots.

Gustafson was very good - in additon Hill Murray hit three pipes and hit her in the mask three times with blasts. She played very strong especially in the third when Hill Murray played most of the period in the Cloquet end. Cloquet is physcal and has 7 seniors who took advantage of scoring opportunites.
