Technically if the coach has the girls transcripts and has gotten permission from admissions, the girl could make a verbal commitment and the coach can basically state that the girl can come. With that said, why would a girl shortchange herself and not look at the four other schools she's entitled to do officials at and make a decision based on her official visit and the compatability of the academics to herself. National letter of intents are sent out around Nov. 10 or so and that is the binding contract.
