board

Folks,
Since it is the start of a new month, and because there has been increased talk regarding user suspensions and banning, I thought I would start another 'Talk' thread.
I realize that starting the thread on April Fools Day may not be the best idea for convincing others of my seriousness, but I'll be heading off to Columbus in a few days, and I want to make sure some things get discussed before I leave, as my time in Columbus will be limited and I want to be able to devote my time to actual board administration rather than commenting on this thread then.
I don't want to get into discussing individual cases, because really, that is my business and the business of the individual, not of all the people on the message board.
However, I will mention a few generalities:
If someone is suspended multiple times, the length of suspension doubles each time. Thus, they are suspended for one week, then two, then four, etc. So an infraction that may not seem all that serious to one person, may warrant a longer suspension if it is a repeat offender.
Second, I never, never, NEVER will disparage any program in any e-mail message I send, or post on this website. I do not dislike any program, any coach, any player, or even any poster. I am bothered when someone breaks the rules, and calls someone names or otherwise harasses them on the boards. I will do everything I can to stop that behavior.
One of my admin messages was recently posted here, and there was much confusion about which parts were something I actually said, and which were quotes from the person in question. All comments that were of an inflammatory nature were quotes that someone else made, I was merely giving examples of what was said to warrant suspension.
Third, I saw someone recently question our policy because a thread that was started last night was not already closed or deleted. The admin staff does not see everything immediately, and yes, some offensive material that should be and will be removed might go unseen for several hours, particularly if it is overnight. And as I'm sure regular readers realize, even a few hours can translate to several pages of a busy thread.
As always, feedback is welcome and appreciated. I can't guarantee all suggestions will be implemented, but I can promise that they will all be considered.
