View Full Version : Gophers Frozen Four Viewing Party
Gopher fans, if you would like to watch Minnesota play in the Frozen Four, but can't get to New Hampshire and don't have access to CSTV, this info might be of interest to you. Please act quickly.
Power Play Club member Brad Nelson is hosting a viewing party at Benchwarmer Bob's in Burnsville on Friday, March 25 (semi-finals). The first game is at 4:00 PM; the room will be ready at 3:30. Benchwarmer Bob's is located 1/2 mile east of 35W off the Burnsville Parkway exit. Their number is: 952-895-0800.
Brad needs an approximate count, so that the restaurant can staff accordingly. Your decision must be made by Saturday night (March 19). Space is limited to the first 60 people. Contact Brad at 651-491-1161 or devilhisdue@hotmail.com.
Go Gophers!

I'd love to watch the game with a group of fellow Gopher fans but it would be very difficult for me to get to Burnsville from my location in time for the 4:00 PM Friday start time. :(

how about for the new 7 p.m. start time? :p
Here is another viewing option (still has the old time):
For those of us not fortunate to attend the Frozen Four out in New Hampshire, and would like to gather as a group and cheer our team:
Sally's Saloon and Eatery on campus will be showing the game at 4 p.m. on Friday.
712 Washington Ave SE
I've also heard that Joe Senser's may be showing the game (sorry, I don't know which one). Also, KFAN in Roseville had it on last year.

YES !!! This makes it much more convenient for me. Curious, any idea what's behind the change ?

Minnesota still hasn't changed the time on their site yet, but Harvard and Dartmouth and the NCAA site have the new time.
If I had to guess, I'd say that the change was made to accomodate Dartmouth's fan base getting to the game. I don't think anyone would argue that Minnesota-Dartmouth will be a bigger draw than Harvard-St. Lawrence. The more pertinent question might be, what was the NCAA thinking when it gave the No. 1 seed's semifinal the 5 p.m. start time in the first place?
Maybe they expected a Havard vs UMD semi, and they were going to promote the rematch of the 2003 final. The Saints had other ideas.

I think because they knew this would be a major pain in the ------- for Gano.

:D That's what I had assumed. It's most fortunate for me you rank so highly with the NCAA hierarchy.

Would it be ok if my friend and I just show up Friday night at Benchwarmer Bob's or would that be a pain in the butt for the staff there?
I cannot envision a circumstance where a business like Benchwarmer Bob's is going to prefer that people not show up. If there are too many people for the private viewing room, perhaps they can show the game on a TV in the bar as well. If you want to make sure that there will be room, check with Brad Nelson or Benchwarmer Bob's in advance.
Here is an update on the party that I received from the booster club:
Our private, Gopher decorated, room will be available at 3:30 for watching the early (4 p.m.) NCAA Women’s Hockey game and will remain available for the 7 p.m. Gopher game—and into the night for further celebration. Food will, of course, be available for purchase.
Benchwarmer Bob’s is located at 251 West Burnsville Parkway (1/2 mile east of 35W. Take the Burnsville Parkway exit.) Wear your finest Maroon and Gold and be prepared to join other PPC members in celebration.

I think the viewing party is private, and it is probably too late to get into the party. But you never know, it is worth a shot. Try emailing Brad Nelson to see if there is room left (link is in the first post on this thread).

Sally's will be showing the Gopher Women's hockey game tomorrow night. This may be a little easier for some--esp. Brooky given your Stillwater location.

Even if the party is private, I'm sure there will be a TV in the public area.

Well I was just wondering if anyone had any access to recording the games from the Frozen Four this weekend?! Unfortunately nobody I knows has CSTV and then I live 3 hours away from the cities, so I can't just drive up there to watch the games. If anyone has an info that would be fantastic!!!
GO GOPHERS!!!!!
