"We’re very young, and they were scared when they hit the ice," Bowdoin coach Michele Amidon said. "I could just feel the nerves. They were scared. Hopefully they’ll learn a lot from this."

"I’m proud and amazed how far we’ve made it with one goaltender all season," Amidon said. "We went down early, but to be here under the circumstances, we’re pretty impressed. At the beginning of the year, I didn’t even think we’d be in the top four in the NESCAC to tell you the truth. So we’re pretty happy."

Good article...yes Michele told the team in their first meeting of the season that it was a rebuilding year..I think the PB's should be nothing but proud of going as far as they did. You can't say enough about MacEacherns grit and determination under less than ideal circumstances. Bowdoin only had one goalie...their top goalie from last season did not return (Nathalie Morgan) With the exception of about 15 seconds last night and the few times she was pulled for the extra attacker, she played the entire season. Imagine the pressure of knowing there's no one backing you up!!!

Kelly Gittleman has the best set of hands of any female hockey player I've ever seen. And, just like a lot of Michigan talent she's playing on Western Michigan's club team. Oh, and leads the country in scoring. This young lady is still the best goal scorer I've ever coached or seen play, any level.

A great kid too! Kelly score somewhere around 65 goals for us the year you saw her. She scored 10 goals when we won state that year.
