Playoff Question

Does winning your conference give you an automatic bid into the final 8? I thought I had heard this but nobody has been making a big deal of it so far.

Ex. If Yale wins ECAC's do they make final 8, same goes for UConn, Ohio St. etc...Could we have some surprises?

It does in the case of the ECAC, HE, and WCHA. The CHA does not have enough teams to get an autobid. The autobid will be huge in Hockey East. For a team currently outside of the field in the ECAC or WCHA to earn an autobid, they'll have to do some giant killing.
