Dawson College in Montreal has two really talented defense coming out in 2006/07. Catherine Ward and Stephanie Denino could make a lot of teams better. They also have a power forward with great hockey sense in Alyssa Cecere.

I think they are still recruiting for 2005/06 season. I am sure their are still many undecided.

I thought it was against the rules to contact a recruit until July 1 headed into your senior year. So in other words this thread is just fluff.

Not true....A Div 1. coach can make 1 phone call to a recruit in March of their junior year. This is new this year so it is understandable that SHUCrosscheck wasn't aware of it. I understand a coach can also make an April visit to the student's school. Then it's back to one phone call a week as of July 1. The March phone call has pushed up the recruiting timetable for some coaches.
A few more '06 players to note:
Julie Flynn, F, Nobles/Assabet Valley
Pam McDevitt, F, Nobles/Assabet Valley
Jenny Cedorchuk, D, Nobles/Assabet Valley
Missy Hall, F, Gilmour/Ohio Flames
Megan Duggan, F, Cushing
Kelli Blankenship, F, NAHA

Here's a partial list of next seasons Minnesota high school girls hockey seniors that figure to be highly recruited to division 1 programs (in most cases, in my estimation) beginning with the 11/05 early signing. In no particular order...
Allie Thunstrom
Meaghan Pezon
Christina Lee
Chelsey Jones
Holly Roberts
Kala Buganski
Berit Johnson
Breanna Scavo
Sarah Windhorst
Michelle Maunu
Caitlin Hogan
Anna McDonald
The first six on the list are forwards, as are Hogan & McDonald. Scavo and Windhorst are goaltenders. Maunu and Johnson are defenders.
I'll attempt to build / add to the list at a later time as I'm sure their are more D-1 potential players...it's a deep class IMO. That's my disclaimer for undoubtedly omitting other fans favored players from this initial list, and yea, I know which ones I hope come to "Gold Country" and no, it's not all of them. That would be unrealistic ;), wouldn't it

Not true....A Div 1. coach can make 1 phone call to a recruit in March of their junior year.
According to the NCAA guide this year- it says May of the Jr year- is that a typo in their guide? Just want to make sure a whole lot of girls aren't sitting by the phone tomorrow, for no reason!! 1 April visit to the HS and then to the normal schedule. I don't understand 2 things- the phone call allowed to 'international students' in their soph year (so the Canadian girls at the top of the pile have already been contacted, I would think), and NO restriction on the D3 schools for phone calls - it says- anytime, as much as they want- why do they wait until the July 1st date?
As far as this years class- it is way deep, from coast to coast- rather than what teams need to recruit, you may see a big turnover in some schools.

I would add;
From Taft Ally Carr, F and Ashley Wiater, D
From Bershire I would add Ally Edell, F

Jenny Cash from Williston-Northampton....'05-06 will be her 6th varsity letter
05 - 06 recruits are current Juniors
Colleen Martin D, Woburn, MA HS
I heard Martin is not interested in playing hockey in college, as she will be focusing on another sport. Hopefully she will change her mind, as she is a very talented blueliner with a booming shot.

The girls shouldn't be sitting by the phone b/c a lot of coaches do not make the contacts right away anyway.
Here is the NCAA guide for college bound athletes.

I was kind of kidding about that 'by the phone thing'- where else would they be, other than the rink? They are teenage girls!!! Anyway, the NCAA kills me- the linked brochure says March- the one they mailed to my daughter says May, yet the rest of it looks the same. No wonder no one understands all the rules!!
