A more complete listing of the young ladies from within the Minnkota district headed to LP this summer. Many of whom favorites of mine to have watched and discussed in the "High School Players/Teams Observations" thread throughout the last few seasons and several that figure to be highly sought after and ultimately singing on dotted lines beginning 11/05...and beyond.

Congratulations to the players noted in Metro North and the Catholic conference who are very strong in their leagues. The public school leagues and Catholic conference are becoming stronger each year but the true test of their scoring records would be with teams in the Division 1 prep school leagues or with teams who play at the Nationals or with the the AA teams at the key girls tournaments such as at NAHA or Polar Bear where there are stronger forwards, defense, and more talented goalies. These girls deserve the chance to develop their play and love of the game at top tier womens/girls hockey.

So, any intuitions on who among them that figure to be hotly recruited as members of the '06-'07 class ?

New to this FAN Forum. Brookyone, I take it that the "warriors cometh" are the Lamoreaux twins from SSM. Did not realize they were so young (08-09) ... or I would have definitely put them on the 06-07 recruits list. They were tops in MWEHL and from listening to the audio-live of the final game at the nationals they dominated there as well. Have seen SSM play in Chicago several times this past season. The sisters are the real deal and a pleasure to watch. The only team that was able to contain them at all was the Honeybaked team(MI). The line that was repeatedly paired with the warriors had a couple players that caught my eye ... I'm watching for big winger #99 Miller played well along side strong center Proddian. Miller is smart and has a great set of hands. Both are big solid forwards who can cycle the puck, don't know year for either 06-07?? I also liked Hoffmeyor (06-07), gritty and aggressive, played wing intermittantly along side Proddian and Miller. Cahill D (OSU 05-06?)is always miserable for anyone to play against. Should be fun to watch these two teams. They played neck and neck all season long, but I am partial to SSM and think they will remain dominant for sometime ... or at least until the warriors leaveth!

While the twins probably qualify as warriors on the ice the "warriors" in the signature refer to a couple of players already set to play for Minnesota in '05-'06. One being Dagney Willey, an amateur boxer of considerable skill (as I've heard) in addition to a defender by trade, the other being Gigi Marvin from Warroad (high school nickname warriors).
I have never seen the SSM girls play but hope to next season. After reading your comments regarding the on ice exploits of JL & ML plus all I've heard around the local rinks I've really gotta make a point of getting to a few of their games. Some pretty amazing and impressive stats for anyone...but 9th graders...WOW !! I have to believe they must be great fun to watch.
SSM did finish with a very impressive record last season and I believe you're correct that they'll be strong at least until the twins graduate and make the drive up HWY 52 to Minne...
Lakers5...welcome to the forum BTW

Good Luck to all these great players!
The name that stands out on the MA squad as a solid D1 recruit is Courtney Sheary.

Why when I hit this link, do the rosters come up blank? I can see the alternate lists, but no team rosters.

If possible, will someone kindly post the massachusetts, northeast, and NE rosters here. No matter what I do, I can't see them. :(

Excited to see some comment on players from Michigan, especially players that I know of well enough to talk about! We have some high caliber players here in the other "M" states too. Some of the Honeybaked players identified in an earlier post (Laker5) qualify for the D1 list. RE 2006-7: Proodian 05 is headed to RMU this fall, so you can cross her off the 2006-7 recruit list, but Hoffmeyer 06 is a potential for the list. Heard Kelli Stack will play for Honeybaked in the fall, already on the list. RE 2007-8:You can put Miller(07) on that list for promising juniors next year, a big forward with big potential.
The Michigan teams have sent a fair share of their high caliber players
east. Watch for the Capital Center Pride this year, a dark horse.

I am gonna make myself sound unknowedgeable here but I was wondering how is the girls hockey scene in Michigan. I know one girl at my school who is good but I don't know how she stacks up against the rest of the country. I know she should at least play d-3. She is a senior in 06.

Maybe I can help you access the situation here, while this player remains anonymous. Both of my sons and my daughter played hockey in Michigan for many years. Although I no longer live in Michigan, and am not intimately familiar with all the teams and players, I still maintain an interest in the general state of affairs there.
Girl's High school hockey has really only begun to evolve in Michigan. Since MAHA rules prohibit dual rostering, most of the very talented players will be found on club teams like Honeybaked, Belle Tire, Little Caesars etc.. . In recent years the Michigan club teams have been very competitive nationally. So in general a good measure of the national caliber of a player is to know where they play. Another good clue to the talent level of a player is to find out if they have ever attended a USA Hockey Development Camp. These camps are held annually in Rochester NY, or Lake Placid NY( depending on the age group), and are the attempts of USA hockey to weed out the most talented players in the nation. The camp selection process, like all other human endeavor, has its flaws. So ... you could still certainly be a very good player, one that can even play D-1, and never attend one of these camps. Written correspondences from college hockey programs may indicate that a
player is talented. Lastly and of course, to know how long an individual has been playing is a good general rule with any sport that requires as much individual skill development as hockey.

Thanks for the info Lakers. I know Belle Tire is a strong team. Also Boys HS hockey is growing in Michigan and there are talks of there being a season split. Which would allow for me to play both travel and high school which would really improve the talent in our high school leagues.

You are so correct, if MAHA allowed dual rostering, I am sure both girls and boys HS hockey would catapult in Michigan. Would be interesting ...
