Is Dartmouth at all shorthanded this weekend?

My one thought is I'm glad they decided to play both these games in February when both of these teams are running strong, rather than back in November, when one or both teams might have needed a little more time. Certainly Harvard was that team this year.

Sometime shortly they will be shorthanded as they have a few players that will be going over to Europe with the Canadian U22 team for the Air Canada Cup. I am not sure of the exact dates.

The Air Canada Cup, the actual games are 2/10 to 2/12. It won't affect this weekend. It'll will affect next weekend.

I believe that palyers from Calgary set out on Feb 5th. I don't know what the central collection point will be. It may be that the players set out immediately following the game on Saturday, only a guess.

Is the roster essentially the same as the USA / Canada series in August?

The Canadian roster is identical unless there have been injuries.

be it then that all 3 teams will be at full strength, Dartmouth should get a challenge this weekend they haven't seen in some time. I can't make the Brown game, but am looking forward to Harvard on Saturday. Dartmouth can be taken off their game a bit if you get in the faces of some of their big weapons, notably Piper and Apps, who have been known to take penalties more severe than 2 minute minors from time to time.

I think we'll all enjoy the challenge, fans and players alike! This is usually THE BEST weekend of the season.

It certainly will be important to stay out of the box. I hope the refs are consistent, for the sake of all the teams and so that the games have a good flow. With the history of many close games between dartmouth and these 2 teams, special teams could be a big part of the story (as they were in the Dart-Minn. series).

Dave, thanks for the write-up and for posting past game re-caps. Some great 1-goal games there, and it should help get people psyched for this weekend (not that we need too much help to get excited about Harvard/Brown . . .)

Unless Brown has really come a long way in the last three weeks, I don't think that they will be able to stay with Dartmouth this weekend. Coming into the season, I thought that the big question for the Bears would be in net. Last month, that didn't seem to be their problem, as compared to missing players and lack of scoring punch.

Harvard/Dartmouth has been more interesting over the years, where the records of the teams don't seem to always predict who is going to win. At this point of the schedule, it probably helps Dartmouth somewhat if this is a good, competitive game.

ARM - what you say makes sense and I hope you're right! Even so, it's a rivalry game and Brown has hurt DC in the past, so we can never count them out!

So much of Brown's success last year was based on Jessica Link (figured on half the team's goals) and First Team All-League D Amy McLaughlin. That Harvard-Minnesota stretch was so godawful I think largely because they didn't have McLaughlin, Link didn't seem like herself, and the rest of team simply did not respond well to that adversity. Last weekend showed signs of Link being the player she was last year, and McLaughlin was back in the lineup. So I think you'll see a much better showing by Brown this time around, and they're tough and always seem to match up well with Dartmouth. If I had to guess, Dartmouth will still win pretty handily, 2-3 goals, but Brown will at least have a far more respectable showing than they had against Harvard and Minnesota.

I am not getting anything on gametracker either. I did try the Harvard game and it is coming in on gametracker. Has the game not started yet?

All of the other games seem to be coming in. I just sent "feedback" to collegesports. Any info anyone. I am certain the game started on time.
