the top recruits and second tier recruits have been contacted. the top recruits have pretty much committed or have a very good idea where they are going. the second tier recruits may not have committed however you can be sure they have been contacted. so to answer your question, chances are, the coaches have made the contacts for the upcoming 05-06 season.

Although coaches will have contacted players they know can play at the level they want, they obviously can't contact players they don't know about. If scouts have seen your daughter and didn't call, they have made a decision. Many teams rely on players contacting them. It isn't too late to contact teams yourself to let them know about games, tournaments or camps your daughter may attend. Those players that will take scholarships positions should have been contacted but Div III and some Div I opportunities are most definately still out there.

An assumption is being made that a Coach has not called because said Coach has made a decision solely based on the player's talent or that the Coach has not seen the player. Close if not first hand experience has demonstrated that very interesting results can come from a player contacting a Coach and expressing interest.

Definitely call at least the assistant responsible for recruiting, right now they have gone through the early signing period and know who they didn't get. At D1-(non Ivy) you can either be a recruited scholarship athlete, a recruited non-scholarship athlete or a walk-on.....if you prep your FAFSA and figure out what the EFC is AND you have the talent a lot of the programs will be interested in you in the 'recruited-non scholarship' category....contrary to what it may seem, it is a large step ahead of the walk-on status. Strong SAT's/ACT's help...Don't expect Minnesota or Wisconsin to jump, but a lot of others will at least talk.
Walk on is really iffy...if you decide that route find a school you like for the academics and where you are comfortable and give it a go.

Call the schools you are most interested in attending first. If they say "no", all it has cost you is the call and a little time. If you call a school farther down your list and they say "yes", you'll never know whether or not you could have gone to your first choice. I think it is similar to non-athletes going to college. Start with your top choice, if that doesn't work out, you can always move on to other options.
Regarding Wisconsin and Minnesota, from what I know of their staffs, I'd be very surprised if they made you feel like you should not have called. My guess is that they will be grateful for your interest in their university, even if they don't have a spot for you on their roster at that time.

Didn't mean to imply that.....both are class organizations and I know Tracey Cornell (UW) would at least listen and make suggestions...don't know anyone directly at Minnesota so can't say the same but I believe you would be happy with the feedback. Your advice is solid...pick up the phone.....it doesn't hurt to call.
