Camrose Kodiaks' Tyler Swystun is having a tremendous start to the World U17 Hockey Challenge.
Tyler scored the winner and added an asist in Team Pacific's 3-2 win to open the tournament, then added a goal and 3 assists in their second game versus the Finns.
He currents leads all tournament players in scoring with the 6 points.
I believe he has more or less committed to another year here in Camrose.... though he may have accelerated his schooling, I am not 100% sure.
Regardless, I am certain the NCAA is his choice.... and he'd look pretty good in any uni for 2006 and will certainly be a top recruit from the north when he inks.

Web Guy:
Can you shoot me an e-mail off the board? I had an AJHL question for you.
Hi Webguy. Have you seen any NCAA recruiters watching Tyler lately? Does he have a preference, WCHA (big ice sheets), CCHA, HE?

Everybody watches Swystun, NHL and NCAA. I know of no specific interest though..... on his part or theirs.
The big ice might favor Tyler, but he will excel anywhere.
Great vision, tremendous skater, outstanding playmaker.
More dangle than 'drive to the net' early this year, but that is equaling fast.
Has even dropped the mitts 2 or 3 times when guys have tried to take liberties with the 'kid'. Is, IMO, going to be that much better yet with another year at the Junior level. I expect he may sign early and defer, but that is simply a guess.
I would love to see him as a Badger. Too long since we recruited the AJHL. Brodeur seems like ancient history.....

WebGuy-
Have you seen Matt Glasser ('87) from Ft Mac? I've heard very good things about him from someone that's seen him play in person.
Wisconsin Hockey: Just one Alberta boy left...

Yes, just once though.
Unfortunately, with the unbalanced schedule - they only make one trip to town.... but simply from that one look, and everything I've heard from people who know their stuff - the kid is absolutely the real deal, the complete package as a player.
