1-1 at the end of the first...Vi Theofylatus scored a power play goal early for the jackets...not sure who scored for St Thomas....big crowd at the game..i was surprised...probably the biggest crowd i've seen for a women's game other than maybe the NCHA tournament last year.

According to Collegehockeystats.com, it wound-up a 5-3 Superior win. St. Thomas took a 3-2 lead into the third period before the "Jackets" reeled-off three goals (w/ the 5th g. being an empty-netter). The "Tommies" were outshot 38-26 & went "0 for 7" on the p.p. ... nice win for Superior but I'd guess that, although St. Thomas came-out-of-the-game disappointed giving-up a lead on-the-road in the third, they also gained some confidence in their ability to compete w/ a quality team away from their home-ice.

this game was also full of penalties... the most i have ever seen in a women's game in five seasons here. 18 total... and after talking with the refs after the game, they said it could have been a lot worse, thanks to the new POE.
both teams did score on the power play, but after two periods, superior was getting outshot by quite a margin. they finally turned it up a notch in the third.
