Fan Forum Users,
The Posting Guidelines have been amended and rearranged. The ten existing rules were only slightly altered, but five new rules have been added after discussions among the moderators and with input from posters.
http://www.uscho.com/FAQs/?data=board_guidelines
Please read over these new rules, and feel free to ask questions. I'll try to answer them, as I did before in a <a href='http://board.uscho.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40025'>similar thread<a>. I won't answer every post, but I hope to stimulate discussion.
These new rules were not made in response or reaction to any one poster, but have been chosen to try and enhance the user experience while on the board.
There seems to be an increase in violation of the "personal attack" rule. Please be aware that such attacks are illegal according to board rules. Any posts that contain such attacks will be deleted or edited.
It is the sincere hope of all Fan Forum Moderators that these new and updated rules will help to make discussions, arguments and conversation here more pleasant.
We welcome feedback, as always.

"Troll" posts will be deleted. If a post is intended for honest discussion, it will be allowed, but if the point is merely to generate anger and hostility in other posters, it will be removed. All decisions regarding these posts will be made at the discretion of the Fan Forum Administrative staff.
Well, there goes 80% of the daily board traffic.

I don't think we have enough political threads. Can you make a rule that encourages the further creation of such wonderful and civil discussions? :p ;)

And it'll go on your permanent record. ;)

With regards to rule 15, "If a Fan Forum User attempts to circumvent a suspension (for instance, by registering a second account while the first is suspended), the suspension will be lengthened." Do the moderators realize how many people currently on this board break this rule? Will those that are found who have broken this rule, have their second, third, etc usernames suspended as well?

And it isn't like they are hiding the fact either. You can go through the member pages and find them pretty easily.

Geez, for some posters we can chart out a whole family tree of their past usernames! :D

We do that, too. But hey, it keeps us entertained, right? :D I mean, think about it, we've turned rooting out these guys into a game. Maybe we need these guys, particularly in the offseason. ;)

If you know of specific users with multiple usernames, feel free to report them and the extra accounts will be closed.
Please remember that there are over 8000 users and thousands of posts made every day. We try to make sure the rules are observed, but sometimes things slip through the cracks.
Particularly regarding older posts or users. If someone signed up five accounts three years ago, we may have trouble weeding that out now, while we would not allow that today.

This really should get stickied, or else this thread will get buried underneath the 15 or so "Kerry is a stinking Commie who faked his Vietnam service - Yell at me here!" and "Bush is a stupid nincompoop - Yell at me here!" threads.
We wouldn't want that now would we admins? :D

Nah. Just 80% of phil's posts.
I'm not going to say anything else. I'll just get in trouble like last time.

Why aren't we allowed to change our Screen names, and instead have to delete them and start over with new stats?

This should be at least allowed for "Parise for Hobey".

Better question:
Were the Red Sox ever truly alive?
