Pretty nice schedule for the Maverick fans. Two separate month long home stands with no more than two consecutive series away. As for the netminders, BIG skates to fill. I sense opposing WCHA forwards might, at this point anyway, be feeling some relief / optimism. We'll see if that's justified or not.

It should be interesting to say the least, the will have three goalies this coming year, with Brennan and Kehler and one other one that is walking on. Like I have said all year, this Kehler is supposed to be a real athletic sound goalie, and Brennan is very capable. The one thing MSU didnt have a great deal of last year was D, and now they have cleared Wallace so she is coming, she was on the under 22 Canada team and is very very good, and now they just signed another D from Ottawa last week that is very good so that should take some pressure off the goalies. In years past Vogt had to do all the work herself so it should be nice to have some talanted D to help the young goalies out. I think its going to be an exciting year for the Mavericks. I believe they have about 6 or 7 forwards coming in also. GO MAVS

Due in part to some prior discussion regarding the probable need for more offense from the Mav's next season & my own general curiousity, I would be interested in who MSU fans see as a likely or possible 1st line ? I assume Devon Nichols might have been on a 1st line but I understand she is not returning, correct ? Or maybe some general thoughts on who's gonna bury the biscuit for Mankato in 04/05 ?

Nichols is leaving that is correct, my guess is they will still have Saltino and Heinrich from last years first line, they also added Bunker and Stohr so I am not sure what they will do with those two. Conway will be back also after a pretty darn good freshman year. They also have their second line and their third line still in tact, so they really didnt lose any scoreing besides Nichols who I think will be easilsy replaced plus they added 4 or 5 more forwards that are coming in. I think they will experiment for awhile and see what works and go from there. The biggest difference in the Mavs this coming year will be the D and how much better they will be on the blue line. It should be interesting.

Life without Vogt won't be easy for the Mavs and whoever is between the pipes this fall. One thing Brennan/Kehler/Walk on will have going for them is a more experienced defensive corps. All the defenseman will be back with another year of action under their belts. Salatino and Hainrich can put the puck in the net and Conway had a great first year. I'm hearing lots of good things about the players coming in and I'm excited to see how they play.

What's the story with Nichols?

I guess this is a good start in the right direction. Two young ladies invited to the Under 22 Can team. One being a goalie, and the other a very skilled D. GO Mavs

Who's the defense person if I may be so dumb as to ask?

minor detail, but the roster for the U-22 CAMP, not the U-22 TEAM. Still a good class for Mankato nonetheless.

Yes you are correct the Under 22 Camp my fault, none the less, a great couple of girls to add being that they lost the heart and soul of the team in Vogt. With these two girls and the others they have coming in plus a very talanted group already in place, the Mavericks should be fun to watch.
