Where did I say I believed everything Moore said to me? Don't put words in my mouth.
I said I enjoyed the film, it gets people thinking, talking, and at least questioning some things (we shouldn't just blindly follow our president because he's our president).
I agree with some of Moore's opinions, yes. Do I think he did a good job with the film? Yes. But mostly I love a film that lays some of this stuff out there, because it isn't the popular side of things. It's easy to read articles and reviews etc. by the "side your on" and form an opinion based on that. It'd be the same thing if I only took what Moore said and just based my opinion on that, which you're assuming I have.
I'll be the first to admit that I hate Bush, and I think he's a scumbag. But to say that I idiolize Moore or anything of the sort is wrong. I'm a big girl and I'm very capable of forming my own opinions based on several things, not just one film.

Yes, but believing Michael Moore just because you share a common hatred isnt wise either.

I don't believe Moore because he hates Bush. We just both hate Bush, merely coincidence.

Well it is curious that you buy some hate filled propaghanda that is clearly misguided as truth.
Read the article I posted, it shows good insights into the blatent contradictions and lies that Moore spews as truth.

I read the article. But as I've said, what 3 + times now??? I don't take any one source to come to any conclusions. I didn't do it with the film, and I'm not going to do it by reading one article. I hated Bush long before Michael Moore decided to make this film about him. Again, don't assume I only come to conclusions based on this movie.

I picked "Hero", given the options. Why? Because if nothing else, he has made this board (if not this country) seriously think about and examine and research the issues he presented. So what if he was wrong, or slanted, or whatever...he's making people THINK!

IMHO all Farenheit 9/11 consists of is a bunch of video clips of high profile politicians saying stupid or goofy things in front of the camera, carefully edited and strung together to imply misdoings. Is GWBush still a neo-con puppet of the conservative, of course. So while I do not think Moore is a "hero" I do not think he is a "idiot" either. Moore is doing what O'Reilly, Rush, Coulter, any rightwing or hardcore conservative public opine figure does: bully his opinion until your sick of listening.

For those who've seen it (I refuse to) let me ask you this:
who's the bigger idiot, Michael Moore for making the film that is borderline propaganda, or the people who willingly hand over about $15 bucks to pay to see that propaganda?

No they don't, not anymore. Now they make people think about free speech, whether to protest or simply ignore them (my choice) and whether to deny them a permit to rally if they can't or won't pay for the security needed.
Pretty crappy analogy there Stillings, especially when I didn't defend what he was saying; just pointed out it's generated a healthy discussion of the issues.

It's more the fact that many people take what he say as the truth. Much like the many people who take what Rush say as the truth. Both men are voicing their OPINIONS.

Why? Because you say so?
I don't care whether you are defending him - I do not accept your argument that one is a hero (or anywhere close) for doing no more than raising awareness around an issue. As I clearly demonstrated, there are some terrible people out there trying to raise awareness.
Pretty weak defense TA.

What in F-9/11 was a lie?

A claim doesn't have to be proven to be made, it just has to be something that MIGHT not be proven to be false...
Brilliant logic! It even worked for Johnny Cochrane.
Thankfully, "plausible denial" is no longer the modus operandi for the U.S. government.

I said this in the Michael Moore thread, and i will repeat it here. The problem with Moore is that he takes facts, and skews the interpretation of them to make his point. For example:
4 of my 5 friends hate spinach.
The one friend who likes spinach has a girlfriend.
That means the 4 who hate spinach are single.
THEREFORE, only single people hate spinach.
Until the "therefore" statement, all of what I said were facts. But, the overall point of what I said was to portray that last sentence, which is (in all reality) false. That is what Moore does. Same with Limbaugh, and other extremists on both sides of the spectrum.

Whoa...how did I miss this post?
Excuse me, but (without looking back in the thread) I know I said something to the effect of "I chose 'Hero' over the other option(s) because..." There is nothing wrong with stimulating a healthy political discussion, which was my reasoning.
You apparently believe [see your comment quoted above] that raising awareness is useless. What, is it necessary to you to force beliefs down people's throats in order to be 'effective' in promoting your beliefs? That maybe letting people think about the facts and come to their conclusions isn't a good plan?
Whatever...the more I think about it, the more you contradict yourself. 'Doing no more than raising awareness is bad but terrible people raise awareness'. You want the terrible people to do more than raise awareness????
Please explain yourself sir.
