Hypothetical, brought on by the flagrant rumormongering going on in the Dora thread.
You are Team A. You lose to Team B in the National Championship game. Team B is later ruled to have had an ineligible player and you are granted the de facto national championship.
Do you hang a banner?

****, I thought they were about to find a '99 Maine player ineligible. ;)

I don't think it's actually in the books as a national championship. Oswego was not awarded the 1987 D-III National Championship (to my knowledge) after Plattsburgh was forced to vacate their title.
RPI wouldn't hang a banner anyway.

As a UNH fan, I would support hanging a banner based on the rumormongering alone. ;)

Didn't Wisconsin win a NC like this in the late 1980's early 1990's?

Wisconsin won all 5 of their titles on the ice.

No, but they did vacate a second place finish that way in 1992.

Maybe a larger "Frozen Four" Banner would be enough... or a banner that says "National Chapmionship Game"
