I'm assuming it is going to be HEA refs all weekend (since BU is hosting). So there's only a few crews to choose from (5, I think)... so the bright spot is that Hache in the semis means no hache in the final... if that's any consolation.

Actually, there should be no HE refs the rest of the way ... since ME or BC will be involved in the last two games ...

but I could be wrong ...

Is that how it works? The Hache selections looks even worse now... why not Hansen?

How are refs picked for the Frozen Four (or other postseason games) anyway?

It'll probably be ECAC refs for the title game, or Piotrowski again (if Maine wins. :p )

Edit: Bob- It's always a referee from a conference not involved in the game. So, for Michigan State-UMD, you'd get a Hockey East ref, and if you have Boston College-Michigan, you'd probably get a WCHA ref.

I always thought the ref for a tourney game couldn't come from the conference of either team. So, yeah, what you said.

Denver putting some pressure on Reichmuth, including a ping off the pipes.

Thanks. I was wondering if this was a SCORE UPDATE thread.

Question, has Heche been a ref for a long time, or in other words, does he have the most seniority of the refs in HEA? If so, I wouldnt be surprised if the guys were select by some silly seniority rule or if not, maybe the front office likes him most. We all know that a lot of being an NCAA ref is who you know and how much they like you and not how good you are.

Hache is one of the newer refs in Hockey East, so it's not seniority.

Isn't Hache the guy who's been getting bumped down from the NHL/AHL/HE ... on his way to Squirts at the Rinks at Exeter ....

How many hockey games does McDonough normally do? When a penalty box door is open and a red light is on, that means go to commercial :p , not there's a penalty coming up. :D
