England first. Then the US. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone disliking the England National Team. We haven't won since 66! How can you hate us? We don't even dislike you!

Not only that, but the US beat England in 1950. :D

It was so good, they're making a movie about it.

Game on at Highbury....Arsenal v Leeds is on Fox Sports World.

And as I type it, Pires blisters one home. 1-nil to the Arsenal!

2-nil arsenal. Henry scores on a breakaway.

Given the proclivity of anyone on Celtic not named "Larsson" to get injured, I'm not entirely surpised...

3-0 Gunners. Henry converts a penalty after a Dugarry handball in the box.

EDIT: I think we can describe Henry as "in form"...he completes the hat trick in the 50th minute. 4-nil and this isn't funny anymore.

5-0 Arsenal, that last goal was a thing of beauty.

What a demolition job. The Gunners could easily have scored 3-4 more. And Henry's hat trick plus one was a fabulous performance. Clinching at The Scum next week would be excellent!

I've now watched two consecutive Friday Arsenal league matches. Thierry Henry has been courteous enough to score seven goals in those matches for my viewing pleasure. :)

Hell, Robert Pires has a goal in each game, and he looks weak and sickly compared to Henry. :p

---

For the record:

The US has played England seven times. They've won two and lost five: 7 GF, 31 GA.

6/29/50: USA 1, England 0 (WC)
6/8/53: England 6, USA 3
5/28/59: England 8, USA 1
5/27/64: England 10, USA 0
6/16/85: England 5, USA 0
6/9/93: USA 2, England 0
9/7/94: England 2, USA 0

Good to see Henry on Sportscenter. :)

Once again ManU falls to a bottom team as Portsmouth beats them 1-0 (ala Leeds, Wolves, etc.). ManU dominated possession, but never looked very threatening and overall looked decidedly ordinary. I think it once again shows how dependent they are on RvN to have any real attacking threat. When he's gone, nobody else fills the gap. And Portsmouth now look unlikely to relegate, as they jump to 15th, at least for the moment.

Wolves 2:0 'Boro

This result would have looked ****ed good, had Wolves not squandered 3 points in extra time goals allowed in their two matches last weekend. At least they're still in there fighting. :)

Camara scores for the fifth game running ... Carl Cort adds his second in three games ... with Leicester's self-inflicted 1-0 loss at Blackburn, Wolves draw level with the Foxes at the bottom of the table, 6 points behind Man City (3-1 losers to Southampton) for the final safety position. And but for that SWP goal just seconds short of full-time last Saturday, the gap would now only stand at a mere three (3) points. Oh - the agony ... :(

Away: Birmingham, Newcastle
Home: Everton, Tottenham

Pretty much have to win at least 10 points - which would have to include their first EPL road win at Birmingham, PLUS an unlikely draw at Newcastle, and two wins at home - and then hope the other results fall their way. But today at least gives me a reason to keep tuning in next week. :)

Manchester City is in big trouble. The game against Leicester next weekend is probably the biggest must win game of Keegan's coaching career. Relegation would ruin Manchester City for the next decade. They carry a lot of debt from acquiring players like Anelka as well as the building of the Eastlands, so relegation could send them into a downward spiral like Bradford City.

Don't ever let anybody tell you that being a Manchester City fan is an easy way to go about your life. After the 4-1 ***-kicking City gave Pacemaker Fergie, I was pretty happy and content, thinking that if City even tied most of the rest of their games (it's what they've done all year...draw here, draw there, loss in-between...), but this loss to Soton makes me that much more concerned about whether City will drop back to the Nationwide. If there's one silver lining in this, it's that I could come up with a much, MUCH worse schedule down the home stretch. Here's what we've got to deal with...

-@ Leicester City
-Newcastle
-@Boro
-Everton

If it's any indicator - well, it used to be, anyway - the Blues are above .500 this year against it's final four opponents. However, the boys that take any pride in playing for the club need to step up, and if James can steal one of these matches, Man City will be fine. Do keep in mind, however, that the game @ Walkers will be City's biggest must-win of the year. If City can leave Leicester with a win, not only will it make Chuck feel better about his Wolves (Sweep sends his regards, btw :p), but it would probably provide enough momentum to keep City above the drop. If they don't get any points this weekend, however, I cannot see Keegan coming back next year. Wardle's not dumb enough to keep somebody who's sucked up all the club's money with no results to show for it.

Anyways, I found it slightly curious to see Anelka modeling next year's kit (side note: I think First Advice filed for bankruptcy, if anyone asks), especially since I've heard he wants out at the end of the year.

I'm too embarrassed to post next year's keeper's shirt, though. Green with black sleeves, ugh. I guess it's not much different than James had at West Ham, but it makes me ill just to look at it.

Would losing Keegan really be considered a loss? Now if City does win does Keegan stay, and if the answer is yes, did we actually win? Just sayin...

Two things:

1.) I can definitely appreciate that I'm not the lone Blue here, but don't clip my sails to make your boat look better. :p

2.) Don't get me wrong, you will never see me stick up for KK. All I'm saying is that considering all the money he's blown on underachieving players, getting rid of him, on top of our current financial woes, would add to our misfortunes. Arthur Cox didn't do a bad job in Keegan's short absence, but he's said he doesn't want to manage. I hate Keegan for what he's done to us since City got back into the Premiership, but if they do fire him, and I imagine they will, finding a good replacement won't be easy.

You can hate Keegan for what he's done in the Premiership, but remember that Man City isn't in the Premiership without him.

1) You will always be the #1 Blue here. I am mostly an observer. :)

2) It won't be easy to find a replacement. So that's why I don't see them making a change.

I completely agree there, but that doesn't make the current plight any less frustrating. He never blew through Newcastle's money the way he has at Eastlands.

You'll have to excuse me for having a 'what have you done for me lately' attitude toward King Kev, but after years of going down, then up, then down, then up again, I think fans reserve the right to be critical regarding how the club's money is being spent.

From what I've read, ManCity could be another Leeds waiting to happen, as they have a very heavy debt load. And if they're relegated, it could be really bad news. I hope they stay up, as ManU needs to have more derbies.
