1-0 Villareal at the half.

Celtic got off to a terrible start, but they picked it up as the half moved on.

An Alan Shearer goal has Newcastle up on PSV 1-0 as the first half heads to a close.

Is there any TV for this match?

I don't believe so, but then again I'm not home. I think Celtic-Villareal is on FSW. I am following this one thru live commentary at soccernet.com

Should be all over but the crying in Villareal. Shame, but Celtic did okay for themselves this season... so far.

A random Brit once described Newcastle to me as the Red Sox of the EPL. So I supposed I should be rooting for them... :p

I'm a fan of PSV. I really like their style of play, and Kezman is the man.

Well, this year about the only excitement Celtic have is their European competition. I mean, they've only dropped 6 points all season and with Rangers tailing off, Scottish soccer really doesn't offer much excitement. There isn't even any relegation excitement, as Partick are 13 points adrift.

Kezman scores on a penalty for PSV, 1-1.

Speed scores for Newcastle, 2-1.

There's an awful thread on BigSoccer right now where the US Men's team is described as the Red Sox and England Men's team as the Yankees... try to wrap your mind around all of the things wrong with that statement.

Worse, it wasn't started by a n00b... it was started by a mod!

If a thread on Bigsoccer says "USA can't" or "MLS should..." I just avoid it.
And some of the Mods from like the South American or Euro teams boards are the worst.

One of my roommates (not a soccer fan) has decided that Arsenal is the Red Sox and likes to mention it whenever possible. He bases it on the following statements:

1) Can win over a season, never in the biggest competition of all
2) Fans think there's a conspiracy against them
3) Constant comparisons with team that throws around gobs of money just because they can
4) Wear red

England are a good match for the Sox, I'd call Brazil the Yankees, and the U.S. is probably closer to being, say, Houston.

Comparing Arsenal to the Red Sox? I'd say Chelski or Newcastle are a better fit, as they're always close to winning and really should win every so often, but haven't won much of anything in a long while. But Arsenal have only won 3 FA Cups and 3 EPL titles (assuming this year stays on course) in the last 6 years or so. Hardly Red Soxesque!
