Nottingham Forest is leading 1-0 at the City Ground at halftime over Wolves on BBC Radio Five Live (http://www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive/index.shtml?refresh) if anyone (Chuck and Bob, namely) is interested.
To update this: Forest holds on to win 1-0 despite being down to ten men for most of the second half. This gets Forest out of the bottom three, and could spell the end for Wolves manager Dave Jones.

Forgot me, there, Mav, the closest thing to a Forest fan in residence that we've got here. Forest have been awful most of the season. The team's best player, Andy Reid, hates the coach, Joe Kinnear, and the club has never been the same since David Johnson broke his leg in a match early last year.

Too bad about Wolves. Davey Jones really is a good coach, so I'd hate to see him shown the door. He did well to get Wolves promoted and he wasn't given the players to stay up last season. :(
Mancs drop points again today as they put in a listless performance in a scoreless draw with Birmingham. An Arsenal win today would leave the Mancs 11 points adrift.

Gunners go down early on a Lee Hendrie goal, but storm back with two from Pires and one from Henry to extend the streak to 49 straight. And next weekend they go for 50 at Old Trafford. I may have to break my rule of not paying the exorborant Setanta ppv rates for this one! Now if only Chelski would lose at Man City, all would be good in the world of EPL football! :)

Liverpool was losing 2-0 at Craven Cottage and then stormed back with 4 second half goals to win the game with authority.
Boa Morte scored two goals in the span of 7 minutes and fulham was up 2-0 in the 29th minute but a Fulham OG scored shortly after the restart(49th minute) cut the lead in half, and Milan Baros scored the equalizer in the 71st minute.
Xabi Alonso scored his first Premiership goal in the 79th, right after Josemi was sent off for his second yellow card of the match to take the lead in a shocking turn of events for Fulham and then subsituite Igor Biscan scored the nail in the coffin in the 90th minute.
4-2 Liverpool!
The result sucks because Van Der Sar is one of my favorite keepers.
If there was any goalie that I would want to lose 1-0 on a penalty shot, it would be van der sar. If he has to lose I want him to lose because its not his fault at all. But he got peppered with shots.
Oh yeah and Bjorn: Possession was 52-48 Liverpool, barely a difference.

City's up 1-0 on Chelsea early on an Anelka penalty in the 10th minute. From what I'm hearing on GMR, Ian Cheeseman says City's playing with a lot of passion early on.

I woke up to watch ManU.
i fell asleep at around the 7th minute. I woke up to find some German teams playing.
I suck.
0-0? **** the Reds are angering me. Why haven't they bought Freddy Adu yet?! ;)

Manchester City 1, Chelsea 0, final. Macken played great, Anelka played great, Keegan didn't trip on it, GREAT day to be a City fan! :)

Man City wins 1-0 on an Anelka penalty in the 10th minute and Chelsea had 69% possession :)
Eat it Chelski!

You didn't miss much. I watched quite a bit of the game and it wasn't much to watch. But I'm sure the Red Devils will be up next week when Arsenal and their unbeaten streak come calling at Old Trafford. Gunners now have a 5 point bulge after Chelski's slipup. Should make good reading to see how Mourinho explains it.

All right, what the hell is wrong with ManU? I haven't seen them at all this year, but I assumed that with the return of Ferdinand their defensive woes would be lessened, and with the entrance of Rooney they'd be obscenely dangerous going forward. They've got good forwards, good wings, a passable defense... are they just crap in the middle of the park, or what?
Another question: Is the '04 version of Chelsea the reincarnation of all those 80's Arsenal teams, or what? They're currently pretty much on pace to score fewer goals as a team than any of three different Arsenal players, and yet they're probably going to be right there for the Championship.
Last, just a note: Apparently the Gunner-bashers of the world are now calling the team "Airline FC," which is pretty funny. ManUre, Chelski, and Airline FC. What a wonderful junior-high-like world the EPL is. :)

I suppose that wouldn't work out for Bergkamp, would it?

A week before Arsenal v United, and Sir Alex is already stirring the pot:

Sir Alex really isn't very good at trying to do psychological warfare stuff anymore. He use to be rather savy about such things, but I guess since he really can't get under Wenger's skin the way he did with Keegan and others, he has to try something else to get some effect. But given the Mancs continued marginal play, I guess he doesn't have much to lose.

Charlton comes back to equalize and tie Newcastle at the Valley. Kind of disappointing considering the sheer number of chances we had to win this one, but we got a point of that. Meh, I really wish we could have gotten three, it would have put us in 7th, just on the outside for a shot at Europe. We have to win at the Valley, we can't win on the road at all.
I'm sincerely afraid at playing anyone on the road. We might even be Norwich's first victim if we can't get it done on the road.

More bad news for Chelsea: Adrian Mutu, who I've heard has been on the outs with Jose Mourinho (who looks like Rowan Atkinson to me), has failed a drug test...

I thought Charlton qualified for UEFA Cup this year on the Fair Play rule?

Arsenal won the EPL Fair Play award last season, but given that they already had a CL place, I suppose Charlton could have been the runners up?

In Champions League "action" today:
Sparta Prague 0 - 0 Man United
Liverpool 0 - Deportivo 0
ManU remain second in their group, two points behind Lyon and two ahead of Fenerbahce; Liverpool are currently even with Olympiakos, two points behind Monaco.
Tomorrow's British matches are Arsenal at Panathinaikos, Celtic at Shaktar Donesk and Chelsea home to CSKA Moscow. Chelsea can effectively put a stranglehold on Group H tomorrow with a win; they'd have nine points from three games and no other team would have more than four. Arsenal could use a road win for once, and Celtic desperately need a win to have any hope of qualifying for the knockout stage, as they are currently tied with Shaktar on the bottom of Group F, both teams without a point.
On a side note: got my Arsenal jersey in the mail today. :) One bit of confusion: Kitbag's site listed it as a size 48 2XL, which would be a US XL... but the jersey is actually a size 52, same as US 2XL. So here's my question: is this consistent with what other thread regulars have found in ordering shirts-- that the sizes are the same as their US counterparts would be?
Cause if so, there's some size 56 England jerseys at Kitbag that'll have my name (well, somebody's name...) on them. :)

DK- my England shirt is a UK XL which is a US L. That one is an Umbro, which uses the UK sizing.
Arsenal and United shirts are Nike now, so I'm thinking they're probably American sizes. The kitbag site is usually pretty good about listing the inches, but soccer shirts can be a little off in true inches.
