Wouldn't it be wonderful if Wayne Rooney ended up on Newcastle instead of Man United or Chelsea? I'm kind of surprised that Newcastle can throw around the kind of money they are proposing to Everton. Their 20 million pound bid was rejected and they are now upping it. They just transferred Woodgate to Real Madrid(they took Real to the cleaners on that transaction), but his fee by itself isn't enough to land Rooney.

In Response, heck no. It would be nice to see Everton keep Rooney for a couple more seasons. Healthy he single handedly could keep them in the premiership. It's odd considering Newcastle has a glut of talented strikers, and I personally would rather see Rooney go to a league where he can learn to deal with his overbearing physical play. He pushes defenders around and outmuscles them to balls and it works in the EPL day in and day out. But that strategy doesn't work out for the best with international play. I'm always thinking about what's best for England, and what's best for England is Rooney staying put right now. If Everton gets the cash injection they need, they'll go out and get one of those strikers they need and maybe a midfielder to shore up the lines, and Rooney can inspire them to avoid regelation.

I like Everton, they play scrappy as the second fiddle in their city. But they have an amazing kit. Which I like to see on the pitch. :)

I think seeing Rooney on Newcastle would be much preferable to him going to ManU or Chelski, and not just because I'm an Arsenal fan. Newcastle are looking to fill the gap when Shearer retires soon and I would think that Rooney would potentially be a good person to plug the gap. While I like seeing Arsenal at the top and don't want Newcastle to pass them up, the fact is that the English game could use some teams that can challenge the 2-3 top teams, and Newcastle is one of the most obvious candidates.

I'm not sure being at Everton is the best situation for Rooney. He might develop better on a squad that could provide him with quality service and where he wouldn't have to bear such a large burden as he does at Everton, especially given the front office turmoil.

After the MEN (Manchester Evening News) reported that Keegan released Paulo Wanchope to Malaga, rumors are abound that he may be on a bargain hunt. PSV keeper Ronald Waterreus seems to be on his want list on a free transfer, and Marseille's Mido may also be on his way to Eastlands.

It's official, Manchester United has made a bid for Rooney, and it has to be more than the 28 million that Newcastle has offered. Here we go. The hype has even gotten to SAF. I want them to get Rooney, and maybe they can give Everton O'Shea also. That would be brilliant. Maybe Roy Keane? Sheesh.

I read somewhere that ManU's bid is equal to what Newcastle bid, though the idea of putting the same bid out there strikes me as odd.

Edit. It's a BBC story that's reporting the 20 million ManU bid.

Arsenal are going for the new all time undefeated streak in English football as we speak. Unfortunately the rocket scientists at FSW have chosen to not broadcast the match!

JEFFERS AGAIN!!!!

Two goals in 5 minutes for Charlton!!!

2-0!

First was a brilliant shot, the second was just ugly defending.

Linesman really blow in this.

Intesting seeing Charlton up two on Aston Villa...i thought the Villians were going to make a big run at Europe this year.

In other action...

Arsenal and Blackburn are tied at halftime. Reyes and Ljundberg await on the bench though so Friedel is going to have a rough second half.

No score in Fulham and 'Borough

West Brom scored early but Defoe who is going to have a break out year scored for Hotspur so its 1-1

And the Wanderers and beating the Saints 2-0 on a Henrik Pederson goal and a Jay Jay penalty.

Make it 2-0 Arsenal as Gilberto scores 8 minutes after Henry. The lads certainly are explosive these days!

Explosive indeed! 3-0 after a Reyes goal.

Great game up north...Newcastle was up 2-0 over Norwich, but the game is now 2-2 in the 76th.

Man U is up, and Rangers look UEFA bound, down 0-1 to CKSA Moscow.

Gunners win 3-0 to break Nottingham Forest's all time English record for most games without a loss. 43 and counting . . . . .

When will it end? :D

I still don't think it will happen, but if Norwich does stay up it'll be because of Darren Huckerby. God, I'd love to have him back at Man City.

So much for Deportivo bowing out in CL qualifying; they easily beat Shelbourne 3-0 in La Coruņa yesterday.

3-0 Charlton in the final.

A brace for Jeffers and an unlikely goal by Young stomps the Aston Villa side.

6 points out of nine and back to back home wins going in to a matchup between the best English manager and the worst.

God I hate Alan Smith. What a traitor. He should have gone to Italy and come back when Leeds promoted, but instead wanted to go to the team he's hated since he was born? What a wanker.

He always seemed to be a hothead to me. I liked him for Leeds, but with his personality he just seems to fit in ManU.

Old Firm is Sunday already! This seems really early for Celtic-Rangers. But it almost seems appropriate for here, since the Kalamazoo Scottish Festival is this weekend...if there were a place to watch it, it would make for a great classic Celtic weekend with the ceilidh on Friday. And I always thought that one Old Firm was done on New Year's weekend, but I think Celtic have Livi or someone else like that, not Rangers for that weekend. Weird.

And speaking of Celtic, The LIVE DRAW for the Group Stage of the UEFA Champions League happens this morning at 10AM ET and UEFA.com will have it. The live draw for the UEFA Cup tournament is tomorrow at 6:30am ET and again can be seen at UEFA.com.

He knows where his future is.

Frankly I always loved the way he played, but since he was at Leeds he always got under my skin. Now at United, I couldn't be happier.
