Ah one of those unique and original cheers which Merchandise United fans are famous for! :p
Why are they calling this tour a tour of champions (or some such thing). Neither ManU or Munich could win their league, nor Chelski.

Tour of Champions?
I'll be there. Therefore a tour of champions.
We're also going to the Sox/Twins game the next night. Twins + me = Champions.
How could they NOT call it the tour of champions? ;)

It's the Champions World Tour, so-called because the folks putting it on are called Champions World. :p

Hey, it makes 'Glory Glory Timmy Howard' funny for me. :p
I hope the Pride of Singapore tanks this summer. I'm already lost on baseball, so very few other things this summer would please me more.
Oh, and BTW, bold early prediction: Ben Thatcher will leave Manchester City before Kevin Keegan does.

Charlton should really sign that little Latvian striker. That guy was just amazing and he did things to the German defense that Horseface and his backup dancers...I mean strikers continuously failed to do.

That guy plays for Dynamo Kiev. Maris Verpakovskis. He could have been on Wolves last year, but they stupidly declined to pick up his contract. He was also the guy who scored the winner against Turkey to get Latvia to EURO 2004.

Not sure if I should post here or in the Euro 04 thread... screw it, I'm sticking with the classic thread until someone tells me different.
New Arsenal kit is out July 22. Can't say I like it too much; after one glorious season of classic red/white and yellow/blue, Nike's messed around with the home kit, and gone back to blue with the away kit.

I've gotta get the 02/04 home kit before kitbag runs out...

ManU sucks, Bayern blows. :p
They should just have AC Milan and Celtic scrimmage each other seventeen times to commemorate the 1967 European Cup finals. :D

That's just a straight conversion of their standard national team design. The only things that don't conform to the "classic" Arsenal look are the nameplate on the back (in white) and the red chevron on the sleeve, right? For the home kit, I mean.
The away kit looks nice, although I'd understand if you wanted to see more yellow on it.

Less than two weeks! WOOO!
Ronlado apparently isn't playing...something about Olympics or something.

I don't like the fact that the new Nike kits have the crest in the center instead of over the heart, but that's just me.

I'm not very impressed with the home kit, the yellow around it doesn't look good as well as the position of the crest. I LOVE the new away! Maybe it's just me, but the position of the crest actually helps in this case. I did love the previous yellow away, but in this case change isn't a bad thing.

I suppose I'll grow to like it, but for now, I'm just gonna complain.
Nathan's right-- one of the things that bugs me the most is the badge in the center.

I've never liked the way soccer teams change their kits all the time. I liked Arsenal's uniform last season and while the new ones aren't that bad, I'd prefer to have stayed with last season's.
And it's annoying seeing Real Madrid trying to unsettle Vieira again. Those rats try to do it every summer!
I read somewhere that the Charity Shield (August 8th!) will be broadcast on free tv on FSW, rather than ppv, as it's been in recent years.

The away kit for Arsenal looks outstanding. The home...meh. Keep the old home kit.
Liverpool's away jersey...crikey, it looks like an Aussie National Team jersey.
Yech.
At least Charlton's are still pretty.
And Crystal Palace's rock.

Tell me about it. Instead they committed to Henri Camara, who scored like one (1) goal in their first 30 games - missing a bunch of sitters to boot - until he got hot over the last two months. He now is refusing to report for training (despite having 3 yrs. left on a 4 yr. deal) insisting that Wolves MUST deal him back to someone in the Premiership. Conveniently overlooking how he could have still had his EPL football had he converted on a few easy ones early on last season.  :(
I think Wolves truly wish they had a do-over on Verpakovskis. In the meantime, only Bolton have lodged a bid for Camara (2.5M I believe) which is supposedly half of what Wolves are looking for.
Anyway, see you guys again next summer! :)

I know what you mean about the RM rumors. Now, I'm forced to log onto three different football sites every day in order to make sure that Vieira hasn't jumped ship. It's nerve-racking, I tell you!
Didn't FSW come up with a deal to televise a lot more stuff stateside next year? I've forgotten the details, hopefully someone can help me out... but they picked up the rights for a bunch of good stuff, as I recall, including England's WC qualifiers.
Bob-- where are you in Arizona? I'm moving to Tucson here in a couple of weeks...

Yah, FSW is supposedly basically broadcasting all the EPL games next season, plus FA Cup stuff, and I think English national team games, while cutting way back or eliminating a lot of the other European coverage. I know some people will miss the other European games, and there were a few games I'd watch here and there, but I much prefer more EPL games to Dutch or German or French games.
I live in Tempe, near the ASU campus. Tucson is a decent place as long as you don't become a U of A fan. What brings you to AZ? It's funny how people always seem to move to AZ during the hottest part of the year.

I'm disappointed they won't still be showing one Dutch and one German game a week, because there are some Americans playing in those leagues (or close to playing in those leagues, in the case of DMB) that I'd like to get a chance to see. (All assuming I can get FSW in Indiana.)
