Oh, Hargreaves and Cole are on the squad.

I don't remember the entire midfield, but here's what I can remember:

Beckham
Lampard
Gerrard
Scholes
Dyer
Parker
Macmanaman
Hargreaves
Jenas
Cole
Hargreaves
Murphy

And while the French starting 4 might be superior to Beckham, Lampard, Gerrard and Scholes (playing a 1-2-1 in MF with Gerrard at DM, Becks and Lampard at CM and Scholes as AM), nobody has nearly the depth of the Brits.

I agree about that, and frankly, I believe that this game is set up that players are better on their natural wing/foot.

They're going to be playing a 4-4-2. Not the diamond.

What a load of garbage out of the Football League. Apparently, the Nationwide Division 1 will now be known as 'The Championship'. Also, Divisions 1 and 2 will now be known as League 1 and League 2, respectively.

Sorry, boys, but you can't polish a (s-bomb).

Euro 2004 opener coming up at noon ET. Who does everyone like in the tournament?

France over Portugal in the final. England will fall out in the quarters.

This is a hardcore shot in the dark, but here goes from the quarters on:

England over Portugal on PKs
Italy over Czech Republic
France over Spain
Netherlands over Sweden

Italy over England
Netherlands over France on PKs

Italy over Netherlands in a big clash of styles final. Probably totally off base, but if Japorea taught us anything, these sort of predictions are rarely successful.

The Championship? Ha! That's a silly name for what used to be the 2nd division. I liked it better when they didn't mess with the league names. Divisions 1-4 was much more straightforward.

I picked Portugal to win it all.

Biggest early upset is Italy not making it to the Quarterfinals!

England will win it all, and Portugal will win at least one match 1-0 or 2-1 on a cheap *** penalty based upon simulation.

There's some chance I'll be at Brit's on Sunday. I'll be in town and I'd like to see England v. France; not sure if I can get it via PPV or not. If I can't figure out any other way, I might go down there. (However, it's likely to be packed beyond belief for any England match, so I'd like to avoid it if at all possible. :p)

$20 cover, get there before the Croatia-Switzerland match instead of England-France.

Nice to see Arsenal haven't been set up with a Murderer's Row schedule again. They actually have a pretty easy early schedule, which ought to be helpful for them to extend their unbeaten string a bit further (maybe another season? :) ).

This should make you happy TBA. Charlton have signed PSV Eindhoven winger Dennis Rommedahl. This is a nice move. Rommedahl has played really well in EURO 2004 for the Danes. He was great in the game against Italy,

Great pickup, Rommedahl is class. Glad Charlton got him. Score one of the small teams.
