the puck has dropped in the second round of the Frozen 64

In Manchester, the 3 seed New Hampshire faces the 6 seed Darmouth in the Granite State Showdown. This could get ugly plus there is a hockey game gong on.

In Buffalo, the 1 seed Boston College faces the 8 seed Clarkson, the game could be devoted to Jerry York the BC coach who once coached at Clarkson.

In Dayton, the 6 seed Harvard faces the 3 seed Miami. The Crimson are looking to keep their momentum, the RedHawks led by Hobey finalist Derek Edwardson look to get into the sweet sixteen.

In Denver, the 5 seed Providence College faces the 4 seed, Colorado College. It will be a battle for respect and the Tiger fans are definitely in attendance.

So they are still in Duluth.

All scores at the end of the first period

MANCHESTER,NH
What was a very tight game and very defensive, Denver has scored two goals late in the first period to take a 2-0 lead over UMass-Lowell. Luke Fulgham scored both goals for the Pioneers, he has four goals now in the tournament.

BUFFALO,NY
Boston College has picked up where they started from and leads Clarkson 3-0 after one period of play. Pat Eaves scored the first two goals of the game and now has three in the tournament. Tony Voce added a goal on a breakaway to try and end this one early.

DAYTON,OH
Harvard and Miami are scoreless after one, this has been a battle of the goaltenders between Dov Gromit-Morris and Brandon Crawford-West, yes its the battle of the three name goalies, scoreless after one.

DENVER,CO
Providence has scored early and gooning it up with Colorado College with a 1-0 lead. Stephen Wood scored in the first minute of the game and everything else has been slow methodical with the occasional hit.

Is Yaros or Davidson in net for Lowell....?

Since Davidson got the shutout against Union, I would assume he would play against Denver.

At the end of two periods of play,

MANCHESTER,NH
Denver leads UMass-Lowell 4-1. The Riverhawks came charging and cut the DU deficit to 2-1 with a goal by Elias Godoy. Denver came back with two quick goals by Greg Keith and Ted O'Leary, so its 4-1 Denver after two.

BUFFALO,NY
Not what we were expecting, Clarkson has come to within 3-2 of Boston College after two periods of play. Both Golden Knight goals on the powerplay, Mac Faulkner and John Sullivan are responsible for making this close.

DAYTON,OH
Harvard has opened a can of whoop-*** on Miami and lead 3-0 after two periods. Harvard broke the scoreless tie in the first few seconds by Kevin Du. The Crimson made it 2-0 on a goal by Tom Cavanaugh and just before the period ended, Tim Pettit made it a 3-0 lead for Harvard, the 6 seed looking for the upset here.

DENVER,CO
Providence still leads Colorado College 1-0, this is an intense game since this almost a home game for CC, PC has managed to withstand the pressure and Bobby Goephert is looking for his second shutout of the tournament.

With five minutes left in regulation....

MANCHESTER,NH
The minor story is that Denver leads UMass-Lowell 6-1 with goals by Luke Fulgham now has a hat trick and five goals in the tournament and Gabe Gauthier has added a goal. The major story is the bonfires outside the Verizon Wireless Arena it is total choas in ManchVegas, more details to follow.

BUFFALO,NY
Boston College still leads Clarkson 3-2, things have been tense here, Matti Kaltianen has provided some clutch saves to save his fellow skater who are not up to par from what we expect out of Boston College. Clarkson looks good and have a strong fanbase.

DAYTON,OH
Miami has chipped Harvard's lead to 3-2, Geoff Smith and Andy Nelson scored early for the RedHawks, everything else has been a very close game and could be a classic here, the three name goalie battle has been intense over the last ten minutes.

DENVER,CO
Providence still leads Colorado College 1-0, it has been very physical and tough and fans of old school hockey are enjoying things here. A lot of boos when Brett Sterling got knocked out by a hit from Luke Irwin, this has not been delicate to say the least but still some hockey left.

At the end of regulation....

DENVER 7 UMASS-LOWELL 1
Ryan Caldwell added the exclamation point to this blowout. The Governor of New Hampshire Craig Benson has announced a state of emergency and have asked all fans to vacate the arena. The Dartmouth-UNH will go on but with no fans.

BUFFALO,NY
Ryan Shannon added an empty net goal to give the Eagles a 4-2 lead but Clarkson did get a with 40 seconds left from Chris Blight to cut the lead to 4-3, a 6 on 4 situation came afterwards, Clarkson had some opportunities including an empty net missed by Michael Grenzy, the game is over BC advances
BOSTON COLLEGE 4 CLARKSON 3

DAYTON,OH
The Miami RedHawks stunned Harvard and their fans with two goals in the last five minutes and steal a 4-3 win. Todd Grant scored on a rebound to tie the game at 3. Geoff Smith took advantage of a Harvard turnover to put the RedHawks ahead 4-3 with 28 seconds left.
MIAMI 4 HARVARD 3

DENVER,CO
With Colorado College providing a large amount of pressure the Friars took advantage of some takeaways and now lead 3-0. Cody Coughlean and Chris Chaput put in the late goals and put things out of reach.

At the end of one period of play....

MANCHESTER,NH
At an empty arena, New Hampshire leads Dartmouth 3-0. All three goals are scored by Preston Callender. A power play goal, then a one timer, and then another power play goal. I wouldn't say this is over yet, Dartmouth gave up four goals in the first period against Michigan Tech the other day and still came back to win. Outside the arena the police have all they can deal with but at least its warm inside here.

BUFFALO,NY
Connecticut and Colgate are tied at 1. UConn the overtime winners in the first round struck first. Eric Nelson put in a rebound for a 1-0 UConn lead. Colgate the ECAC RS champs came back with an offensive drive of their own, Jon Smyth with his third goal of the tournament tied the game at 1.

DAYTON,OH
Michigan leads Merrimack in a big way, its 3-0 after one. The Wolverines not allowing a slow start like last time are taking it out on the Warriors. Jeff Tambellini scored two goals in the first two minutes to get the early lead. David Moss added a goal at the end of the period to make this a 3-0 Michigan lead

DENVER,CO
Top seed North Dakota leads Northeastern 1-0, surprisingly the Huskies have outshot the Sioux 9-6 but Brady Murray got it past Keni Gibson in the middle of the first period to give the Sioux the edge. There was a slight commotion when a bobble head was thrown onto the ice, officials are trying to figure out why and who the bobblehead was
