Denver has the puck and they SCORE!!!! Kevin Ulanski hits the puck off the rebound. North Dakota has 32 seconds to score, if they score within 32 seconds, they win otherwise it will be the Pioneers against Boston College.

ten minutes into the championship game there is no score. Both schools look a little nervous and not finishing out their checks.

At the end of one period of play...
Denver leads Boston College 1-0, Boston College had controlled the level of play but Denver went on a 2 on 1 breakaway. Matt Carle shot on Kaltianen and made the save but Gabe Gauthier was there to scoop up the rebound.

Ten minutes left in the second period...
The score is tied at 2 right now. This has been a fast moving period with Denver scoring early on another breakaway as BC's defense has been lacking. Lukas Dora sped past Brian Boyle and was headed for daylight to make it 2-0. Boston College came back in a big way a nice play by Pat Eaves cut the Denver lead to 2-1. Eaves came back again two minutes later taking advantage of a struggling Denver blue line to get it past Burkhoel to tie the game.

End of two periods....

Denver leads Boston College 4-2 as Denver stops the BC tide with two goals one by a heartbreaking drive by Kevin Ulanski to take a 3-2 lead. Jeff Drummond then made it 4-2 on a weak shot but somehow got past Kaltianen.

Ten minutes left...
Boston College with a Tony Voce goal has cut the Denver lead to 4-3. Things are getting close here as the Eagles continue to pound away.

Five Minutes left....

Denver still leads Boston College 4-3. Boston College had two power plays and only pulled off one shot. Denver treading carefully as they try and hold on.

...and it's over....Denver wins the Frozen 64 with a 5-3 win over Boston College. The Denver Pioneers will be the recipient of the Silver Stein. The Players raise it up and go take the team picture. That is it for the 2004 Frozen 64, the tournament will return next year. Good bye everybody.

I would like to point out that this is the second straight year that the Frozen 64 Champion became the NCAA Champion.
