After two periods of play.
MANCHESTER,NH
The Granite Bowl, New Hampshire in a laugher it is now 5-1, Dartmouth scored early. Mike Ouelette scored early in the period to make it 3-1 then UNH came back with goals like Mark Kolanos and Justin Aikins, this one looks over
BUFFALO,NY
Colgate took a 2-1 lead but UConn scored right back and scored another one on the next shot and leads Colgate 3-2. J.R.Bria hit a one-timer to make it 2-1 Red Raiders, UConn got goals from Eric Helstedt and Nick Marean as UConn looks to be the cinderella team in the sweet 16.
DAYTON,OH
Michigan still leads Merrimack but its only 3-2, the Warriors came fighting, rumor has it that they got a motivational speech by former Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe. Whatver happened, the MC got it going, Mike Alexious and Marco Rosa are making it a game here
DENVER,CO
North Dakota leads Northeastern 2-1 after two. The Sioux took a 2-0 lead off a goal from Zach Parise, the Huskies came back when their 25th shot went in, this time from Jared Mudryk. There is a rumor that NU prez Richard Freeland and NU AD Dave O'Brien are in attendance and holding a white piece of paper.

With five minutes to go in regulation
MANCHESTER,NH
UNH leads Dartmouth, the Green did just score to cut the lead to 5-2 Chris Snizek with a power play, but the real story is the 100 arrest outside the arena as UNH fans are chasing Dartmouth fans, not to mention that a good chunck of ManchVegas is on fire. New Hampshire should advance but this is not the best of circumstances.
BUFFALO,NY
Connecticut and Colgate are tied at 3. Darryl McKinnon went uncontested for the game tying goal.. There could be more to come here.
DAYTON,OH
Merrimack takes a 4-3 lead over Michigan. This is an incredible comback by the Warriors was down 3-0, but goals by Mike Alexiou, his second goal of the game and Matt Johnson for the go ahead goal.
DENVER,CO
North Dakota still leads Northeastern 2-1, NU is dominating play but still can't put the biscut in the basket. Apparently Freeland and O'Brien are behind the coaches bench with great concern to see how things go tonight.

Silverthorn needs to refocus! 3 goals given up to UConn??
Hopefully the Gate can come back and get revenge for their OT home opener loss to UConn last season!

Games in Providence,Hartford,Grand Rapids, and Duluth will be played tomorrow. Keep on giving analysis on the all the games thus far.
This has got to be made up. 7 ECAC teams making it to the round of 32 in this tournament!

Well, seeing as there is only 57 teams nationwide, they had to come from someplace...
12 ECAC teams/57 D-1 = 21%
7 ECAC teams/32 left = 21%
Seems cool to me.

If I am not mistaken, its actually 58 teams. And next year we still will have that many because despite Findlay dropping hockey, we have someone adding hockey (the name excapes me, but it begings with an R). In any 64 team winner take all format, id never scoff at any quantity of a certain conferences teams moving on. Take BBall for example. In any given year, you could have one of the weaker conferences like the A10 or Mountain West move all of its teams to the round of 32, yet one of the strongest conferences (take your pick from the Big East, Big XII, Big Ten, Conference USA, ACC, SEC, Pac-10) lose most if not all of its teams in the first round. It happens, quite whining, and besides, this is all fake anyway, so its not a big deal.

So what time is the tournament starting back up today. I am looking forward to the battle for the Paul Bunyan trophy that is still up for grabs because of the split this year.

These scores are after one period of play.
PROVIDENCE,RI
Alaska-Anchorage leads Maine 2-1 after one. A bit of a surprise against the 1 seeded Black Bears. The Seawolves started the scoring. Chris Fournier hit a one-time five minutes into the game for the 1-0 lead for UAA. Maine fired back to tie the game on a nice play by Jeff Mushaluk. It stayed 1-1 for a while until Curtis Glencross hit a rebound off an errant shot by Justin Bourne and past Frank Doyle for the lead.
HARTFORD,CT
The 15 seed Princeton keeping their miracle run leads Niagara 2-0 after one period of play. Although the Purple Eagles outshot the Tigers 16-4, two of four shots were put in. Mark Masters took advantage of a bad NU clear for the 1-0 lead. One minute later on a power play, with just four seconds elasped Sharam Fouladgar-Mercer made it 2-0. A 15 seed has never made the second round until this tourney, what about a 15 seed in the sweet 16?
GRAND RAPIDS,MI
Notre Dame and Saint Cloud are scoreless after one period. UND outshot SCSU 14-9. A great goaltending battle here, stay tuned for this one.
DULUTH,MN
In a bit of a surprise, Saint Lawrence and Wisconsin are scoreless after one period. The Badgers got 23 shots in the first period, all turned away, they are dominating play but have looked sloppy when making too many passes.

These scores are after two periods of play.
PROVIDENCE,RI
Maine has taken the lead on Alaska-Anchorage by a score of 3-2. Maine took over this period with two goals by Todd Jackson on a nice 3 on 1 and Michel Léveillé added a short handed goal. Even more surprising is that this is the first period in this tournament that Prestin Ryan did not enter the penalty box. UAA looking to come back in the third period.
HARTFORD,CT
Niagara is trying to squash the coachless Princeton Tigers with three second period goals for a 3-2 lead. Chris Welch and Barren Ehogetz scored twenty second apart then later in the period, Andrew Lackner put the Eagles ahead, this game is a tale of two periods, we shall see who comes up in the third period.
GRAND RAPIDS,MI
Jason Paige ended the deadlock between Notre Dame and Saint Cloud to take a 1-0 early in the second. The Huskies fought back to tie the game on the power play scored by Matt Hendricks, the Irish came back minutes later on a drive by Matt Amado to make the difference thus far. Notre Dame 2 Saint Cloud 1
DULUTH,MN
Wisconsin has broken through with five second period goals to take a 5-0 lead over Saint Lawrence. Ryan MacMurchy scored early in the period for a 1-0 lead, Four of the Badger goals occured in the last ten minutes. Scores were followed by Robbie Earl, Adam Burish, Rene Bourque, and Ross Carlson.

With five minutes left....
PROVIDENCE,RI
We are tied at 3-3, UAA came back with a goal early in the third period. Charlie Kronschnabel slid the puck past Frank Doyle to tie the game at 3. Maine has dominated play but no one has shown the leadership on offense to get the job done, hence we are tied at 3.
HARTFORD,CT
Niagara leads Princeton 4-3. The Tigers scored early in the period with a goal Sharam Fouladgar-Mercer, his second of the game. The Tigers picked a power play after the goal but gave up a short-handed goal by Joe Tallari and we are still where we are. 4-3 Niagara with minutes to go.
GRAND RAPIDS,MI
Saint Cloud has tied Notre Dame at 2 a piece. Peter Szabo scored off a rebound early in the period. We have been deadlocked since then, definitely one of the closest games we've seen in the tournament.
DULUTH,MN
Wisconsin leads Saint Lawrence by a score of 6-0, Ross Carlson hit a one timer and just as we go to press, teh Badgers hit the extra point to make it 7-0. A.J. Degenhardt on a backhand, this might slightly be over.
