Scouting report on this weekend's opponent
To maintain any hopes of home ice for the playoffs, the Lakers must get a minimum of 2 points this weekend. And a split would be better than 2 ties, just to get them in the W column again.

third period was SO INTENSE, Ward's tripping penalty was the most insane penalty killing. I thought for sure they'd have lost it right then. Glad to see Trent with a couple of assists! Frank needs to keep Trent & Ward out there together, they seem to just know where each other is and Trent has great passes and puck handling, leave it up to Nate to get it in the net!! I think the Laker hockey games need to be televised all the time, lol, they might win some more that way! Here's hoping for another GREAT game tomorrow night!!

Great game to watch and was great to see the lakers keep Miami at bay when push came to shove. Good game guys and I believe Campbells mom was in the stands and looked so alone in her Laker jersey.

Fox Sports Chicago picked up the game feed tonight, so I was able to watch. It was great to watch them play such a good game. Honestly, my heart sank when Miami made it 3-2, but the guys hung in there and got the Win. Way to go Lakers!!!

Hey guys, I just sent in a message to FSN Detroit praising them for this game tonight. I think some of you others should do the same -- telling them they did a good job covering two of the "lesser-knowns" of the CCHA will only help it so in the future we can see more games involving LSSU and other teams instead of always having it be Michigan and Michigan State versus someone else. Then maybe they will feel less afraid to cover games that seem out of the box.

That lady isn't his mom ... she's just a very fanatical fan and Trent's her favorite! ;)

Now if they can only get that elusive sweep! How long has it been since the Lakers swept a team on the road?
All in all a great game by the team last night. Miami may have had control of the puck for long stretches but the Lakers played a great positional game and limited the Red Hawks chances.
A win on T.V!!!! How sweet was that!!!

Jan 4/5 of 1997, they swept Ohio State on the road.

Eight long years. Amazing! Here's dreaming that we break the curse and vault into the playoff with home ice advantage.
Its also been since March of 96 since we've been to the Joe. Its far time we establish our presence once again in the CCHA tourney.
I think it's going to take a sweep or two (maybe even three) to get home ice, so tonight is as good a time as any to get the first one. But you have to expect Miami to elevate their game tonight, so the Lakers are going to have to do so also.

Just the fact we are still able to talk about getting home ice this late in season is great.I still say the first 2 years of Anzalones return were thrown together seasons and only last year and this season have been steps forward.I have to give the man credit for pushing ahead forward like he has in what I consider only his second season of actually having the ability to improve the team.

Well his first season could be called a throw away for sure. Frank did not know just how bad the team was when he was given the job and rumor has it that after the first week of practice, he stormed into Crawford's office and told him that the only thing he could do to improve this team was to completely dismantle it and start from ground zero the following season.

game was over before first period ever was..first time I have ever heard 5 powerplay goals on 5 straight tries in one period..makes you wonder what happen to the guys between last night and tonights game..best guess though..miami has the talent and the speed to step it up a notch and the lakers cant...going to be a long ride home for sure after a game like this.

Looking at the standings and I would say home ice is pretty much gone..I am hoping they can just hang on and finish 8th
