Yah, if we're going to get a split I'd almost just as soon see the Lakers lose the first for a change and win the second just to get out of the Saturday night funk. Except that if they lose the first they don't even have the opportunity for a sweep.

Hello my friends in the Sault and other Laker Fans...

I see the Lakers will be visiting UAF in January. The Wildcats just came off a tie and decisive win against UAF. From what I saw of the Lakers, they can come up here and win too. The Lakers will need to shut down UAF's offense...

Just a comment after this weekend.

I dream for the day that the three UP schools dominate their leagues.

It was a little frustrating watching the Lakers Saturday, but I guess it is always tough to get two wins on the road. They really stuggled with the outlet passes out of their zone and the power play took forever to get set up. The only other game I've seen this year was home Vs. Northern, and their passing was so good in that game, that I was expecting to see them play like that again.

They were working so hard with the goalie pulled in the third period and it was great to watch. They had a few great chances right in front of me, but it wasn't to be.

Did Crawford say anything about the Reid hooking penalty in the second period that led to a quick UNO goal? That happened right in front of me and I didn't even see Reid's stick touch the UNO forward. I watched the reply on the Jumbo-tron thinking I must have missed something, and even in the replay I saw virtually no contact. I was thinking something happened away from the play, and the ref called the penalty on the wrong guy or something.

The Qwest Center is really fantastic, and the UNO fans were great. I had six people stop me and ask where LSSU is located. For some reason, most people thought it was in Duluth. ??? My wife and I were shown cheering on the Jumbo-tron when the Lakers scored, so that was cool too.....

You know, its hard to complain about getting regular splits on the road. I'd prefer to see a few more sweeps at home, but this too is coming soon.

I am starting to get the feeling that this team feels it can beat any team -- if only they play at the right level. You could almost hear Frank's mind on Saturday night: "Yeah, thats it, make those bad passes, have those lapses in concentration, feel free to let your check out of the corner for a clean shot on goal . . . go ahead . . . we're going to address it Monday afternoon at practice."

This weekend the team had a perfect example of what can happen when you play your best -- and what can happen when you play your worst.

I am predicting a very exciting second half . . . .

His surgery went fine, but he will be out for the season.

Sorry to hear about that Laker fans. Hopefully he can come back healthy and the team can continue winning without him.

He was making a lot of comments about how reid was kinda out of it, from missing so much time.
if i remember correctly, he said that reid was trying a move to get around him, got pick pocketed, and was trying to catch up and slow him down... he didn't see it, but he make it sound like it could have happened..

Lakerblue brought up a good point. If this was a home series, i could see where we'd be upset.. but UNO is 7-2-1 at home, including a 3 point weekend with tOSU. They aren't slouches.

Yeah, Reid was out of it all game and he looked particularly bad on that play. To me it was a play where he almost SHOULD have hooked the guy because he was beaten so cleanly after he gave it up. But he got beaten, the guy goes in and gets a clean shot, then the ref calls Reid for hooking.

Everyone was saying what a joke our cluster was at the start of the season. At the midpoint, the cluster has the 3rd, 4th, and two teams tied for 6th place. It's possible (though highly unlikely I guess) that the entire cluster could get home ice in the playoffs.

Yes, exactly. I did read somewhere that we handed UNO their first Friday night loss at home. Nothing to be disappointed about there!

It would have been kind of hard to hand them their first Friday night loss since we did not play them on a Friday.

Its nice to see the Lakers winning, but you still have this feeling its a hit and miss thing.I like the fact they are scoring more goals but still giving up alot of shots as well.Cheeseman and Campbell really need to get going and they just havent so far.Lets hope they do well this weekend and come back even stronger after Christmas.

Does anyone know how the Injury redshirt with the NCAA works? Would it be possible for Osman to get another year of eligibility? That would probably work out nice if he did..

anyone who actually reads all those rules, feel free to comment

Does anyone know how the Injury redshirt with the NCAA works? Would it be possible for Osman to get another year of eligibility?Osman can't play over 20% of the team's games by the medical hardship rule and he's already played 12, so he probably would not be granted one because he's way over.

Paula mentioned LSSU in her column this week, its kind of shocking. Obvously didn't research the Ried sitituation though.

Paula mentioned LSSU in her column this week, its kind of shocking. Obvously didn't research the Ried sitituation though.

It was basically a positive article so I hate to whine about it, but I'm going to anyway. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe she was being intentionally vague about Reid's case for his privacy's sake. Who knows? What drives me nuts about her articles is when she says things like "back in the line-up is sophomore defensman Ryan Reid." C'mon, a reporter should take the extra time it takes to do basic fact checking on an article. There are at least 3 or 4 basic factual errors in her column every week.

It is supposed to be in the low teens here in Chicago on Sunday and I'll be at Soldier Field watching the Bears lose. I should have planned to stay home where it's warm and listen to the Lakers on the internet.......

Reporters are not suppose to care about privacy. The Reid incident is public knowledge, she could have looked at the evening snooze and got some facts and not just the schools slight on it.

Also I think it make Frank look real bad that he called it "...a mistake that's not something that's hurt another person..."

hopefully that was taken out of context, the article otherwise shows him as trying to take control.

Heres to hoping the Lakers take 4 points this weekend.

Well the Saturday pattern of no little or offense continues. On Saturday nights this season, the Lakers now have a 1-8 record with 12 goals in 9 games. If you take away their single Saturday win, a 5-4 game against Ferris, they have 7 goals in 8 games.

Listen to the pre game show on Sunday and Frank doesnt sound to happy with some of his players..Sounds like he thinks some are still not playing up to par and just gliding and not skating and feels some of the players are not going to the net like they need to and defense is making some mistakes that are too costly.
