I just hope not playing for a couple years doent mean that no one wanted the guy and he indeed has talent that FRank sees. Not to much longer guys and we will back into the new season.

I am somewhat intrigued by this Bahen guy. He had pretty good stats on a great team. Makes me wonder why some one else didn't scoop him up.
By his own admission, he is the type of guy that works the boards and gets the puck out to the other guys who then score. That's a typical Laker style of player from the glory years. The question continues to be, who will score once he gets the puck out to them?

Has anybody heard from Eddo?
I still owe him 50 bucks from last season's bet.

If Hill walks on and eventually gets some playing time as a local kid, that would likely put a few more butts in seats, which would be a good thing too.
I noticed Tony Gliniany was not on the roster this year. Anyone know what happened to him? He wasn't playing much, so it is no suprise I guess.

I know Tony had some problems with grades over the year. My guess is it was a combination of the grades and perhaps not playing up to the level Frank wanted. If anyone else has the info let me know.

Heard more about Tony recently. Story is he left because of lack of playing time. I think he only appeared in a game or two.

six games to be exact.
I see that the New York Islanders have signed Keith Aldridge. He was the last really good offensive defensmen that the Lakers have had.

Isn't Jeff Jackson an assistant in that organization?

You bet he is - he was hired last year as the Assistant Coach. I'd say that Jackson had a bit of an influence on this signing! Good to see another former Laker in the bigs...

Besides...
If it were not for being a "band geek," do you think the incident with the women's basketball team would have taken place?
These are the things from which legends are born, my friend.
what incident was this?

Well, it's August 31st, just 38 more days until the Lakers play their exhibition game against Toronto. Looking forward to an exciting year. But I'll tell you, the travel schedule this team has to endure borders on sadistic. I really think that the CCHA should not schedule ANY team to be in the cluster where they have to travel to both UNO and UAF in the same season. Especially for the Lakers, who have have to bus 5 hours to Detroit before they fly to Fairbanks. The schedule is gruelling for this (or any team). On the road, they travel to Colgate, then back to back road trips in December to UNO and St. Lawrence, then UAF at the end of January. Too bad Frank can't get frequent bus miles. That's nearly 5800 miles (ONE-WAY--give or take) on those four road trips.
I hope the guys have worked hard over the summer on conditioning. Although I'm excited about the new recruits, I'm really looking forward to seeing how last year's freshmen--Rainville, Jakaitis, Birkeland, Restoule, Osman, Campbell and Derek Smith I--come back as Sophomores.
And I think it will be fun to watch Matt Violin and Jeff Jakaitis battle for time between the pipes.
I'm not much for predictions, but I think it will be a fun season. And having a local kid on the team will be a bonus.
Nice to see two former Lakers on the World Cup team.....good luck to Doug and Brian.
